Upper School Curriculum 2016-2017 3
In Upper School we are reintroducing thematic learning through topic lessons that will focus on learning in the Humanities. These
lessons will provide a backdrop to cross curriculum learning, allowing opportunities to foster group working and social skills across the
key stage. Class teachers will be able to individualise their students’ timetables through learning opportunities allowed by these
lessons, such as chances to include sensory activities within the classroom based learning.
Topic Themes for the year.

Vocational Learning is part of the Upper School Curriculum that aims to give students more awareness of the world of work and give them key skills for building on when they move on to independent living, college or employment. Students select courses that are of interest to them along with discussion with their parents or carers. As well as course specific skills students learn about relationships in the workplace, timekeeping and safety.
