PRESCRIPTIONS
Repeat scripts should be requested 48hrs in advance. You
can request your repeat medication in one of the following
ways:
At reception using the B side of your script
Using the online patient access service(ask at reception for details)
By post to our address
We like to keep our phones free for calls from the elderly
and housebound so we don’t take prescription requests
over the phone unless there are special circumstances.
REGISTERING
If you wish to register with the practice you should come to
the reception desk where you will be given three forms to
complete (you can also download these forms from our
website www.vphc.nhs.uk). Give your forms to a member of
our reception team once you have filled them in.

Sometimes it may be more convenient for you to speak to a
doctor or nurse by phone. If so, please ask for a telephone
appointment.
Home visits for the housebound
A request for a same day home visit should be made before
10.00am.
Urgent same day appointments
If you have an urgent problem and wish to call in, without an appointment, please attend the Urgent Access clinic:

consists of 4 Partner GPs, 6 Associate GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, a
Health Care Assistant, a Practice
Manager, Assistant Practice Manager and 17 Administrative
staff. Together we provide a full
range of general practice services
and run a number of specialist
clinics.
As a training practice Vauxhall
Primary Health Care have
Registrars working as part of the
team. A GP Registrar is a fully
qualified, experienced doctor who
is completing a further 3 years
training in order to become a GP.
GP Registrars have daily surgeries
(often with longer appointment
times), undertake home visits and
help with on-call doctor duties.

WHEN WE’RE CLOSED
If you require urgent medical assistance that
cannot wait until the surgery re-opens, please
call 1-1-1. Calls to the NHS 111 service are free
from both landlines and mobiles.
If you have a life-threatening medical
emergency please dial 999.
NAMED GP
The GP contract now requires us to allocate all patients to a particular GP.
You can see any GP of your choice as you are now doing if you are happy with this service. If you
wish to know your named GP, please ask at Reception.
