Submission of ads For HTML5 files: ZIP folder
For third-party TAGs: XLS, XLSX, HTML or TXT files
Deadlines The deadlines for functional tests and programming vary according to the format chosen, so we divided our formats into 5 categories for better understanding:
TYPE GROUP DEADLINE CONSIDERATIONS
COMMON
BANNERS
BLUE
The deadline for receipt is
*1 business day before
the date of placement.
This group is made up of
common, non-complex
banners.
VIDEO
GREEN
The deadline for receipt is
2 business days before the
date of placement.
This group consists of videos
which require further
validation processes.
RICH MEDIA
PURPLE
**3 business days
This group is made up of RichMedia banners, which require more complex validation processes.
NATIVE
ORANGE
The deadline for receipt is 1 business day before the date of placement.
This group is made up of native formats. They are not complex banners, but they need validation mainly in regard to their size.
* the deadline for receipt of TAKEOVER is 2 business days. **verify the flow and deadlines for sending RichMedia ads.
Channels Ask your Business Analyst if there are any restrictions on the placement of the format on the chosen channel.
IMPORTANT: Corrections should be made by the agency/client/Adserver returning the flow. Thus, it is very important to receive the material before this deadline, so that in case of an eventual correction we have reasonable time to address it. If the ad requires many adjustments, and they jeopardize the deadlines for failing to comply with the placement/Adserver specifications, there is no placement guarantee.
Version 1.7.0 (26/Mar/2018) 6
Specifications Many advertising formats have differences in their specifications, so always consult the manual of the chosen format prior to its production.
RichMedia If the format is RichMedia, the material must be sent to an approved third-party AdServer.
Globo must receive a TAG from the chosen third-party or from the agency.
Roles Globo (Responsible for providing the format - Advertising space)
Scope & Responsibility
• Provide information about the format
• Validate the TAG
Agency (Produce ad to the specifications)
Scope & Responsibility
• Creation (Art)
• Produce the ad in HTML5 (animations / codes) based on the
chosen Adserver's template/specifications
• Test on all browsers and devices on which the ad will run
Third-party Richmedia Adserver (Make adjustments to the ad already produced in the template)
Scope & Responsibility
• Provide the format template
• Make adjustments related to metrics
• Give the necessary support to the agency in the adaptation of the ad.
• Reports
• Hosting of the ad
The advertiser is free to choose the Adserver, provided it is approved by Globo, otherwise it
shall undergo the third-party certification process.
Approved Adservers If the approved third-party Adserver is not on the Globo Partner list, the agency shall use its own flow and send the TAG to Globo up to *2 business days prior to the placement for validations and eventual adjustments.

- Videos from 31 to 180 seconds must have skip option.
- Videos hosted by third-party Adservers that need skip button must be at least 8 seconds long. Because of a player limitation, shorter videos do not support skip button, so they cannot be placed.
Attention: Videos of 30 seconds or more, with Skip, shall be accompanied by a 7-second video that will run exclusively on iOS devices. This is due to the restriction for skip featured by video players of iOS devices. If this video is not sent, placement on iOS devices will not occur.

Guidelines and Tips
JPG Images The JPG format is used for photographic images or images with many colors with gradient. JPG
images can vary the size (kb) according to the export quality and their dimensions, each
software has its own export feature, which you must configure according to your preferences.
You can minimize export quality as long as it does not influence the image visually and does
pixelate the image (see examples below).
Example of exported images with different qualities.
In this case, up to 40% is acceptable, but the recommended would be 60%. Remember
this may vary according to the type of image and amount of colors used.
Zoomed
GIF Images With the GIF format you can create animations made up of several images compressed into
one, with the option to use transparency in empty areas. You can also create a unique GIF
image without animation.
Version 1.7.0 (26/Mar/2018) 43
This format has a limited color palette (256 maximum), preventing its practical use in
photo compression. Because of this limitation, the GIF format is used to store icons, small
animations or images with large areas of flat colors. Not recommended for photos.
A GIF animation with photos makes the file very large, meaning your images will not be
clean and will be difficult to publish.
