When event designer Lisa Vorce was asked to develop the Your Wedding Day Fanciful Garden event theme, she immediately envisioned an “over the top sixteenth-century royal garden”. She adds, “Think Queen Elizabeth lunching with the ladies! I wanted the garden to have the opulence and elegance of a royal garden and a tabletop fit for a queen.”
Being so-inspired, her first task was to select a line of table linens that would replicate those used to create royal ladies’ full gowns. “I selected a beautiful bold-colored fabric that would provide a full drape on the table,” she says.
Next, Lisa set to work on the floral designs and table tops. “I knew I wanted a ton of silver elements on the table.” The twentieth-century replica silver pieces she selected included bowls, pitchers, and candelabras. “I utilized as much as I could on the table,” said Lisa, and she explained that she would have added even more silver had there been room. A blue china pattern enhanced the table linens, and even the cupcakes, displayed in a majestic tower, played up the Fanciful Garden’s bold color palette theme.
But a garden is not a garden without the garden, so Lisa ordered hundreds of containers bearing large topiaries and hedging brought in, even walls and a carpeting spread of thick, lush grass.
To this foundation, dozens of florals and unique bird cages were installed, and as the crowning glory, specially-created manzanita chandeliers were hung high. In the blink of a playful eye – magically! - a magical garden had appeared.
Lisa refers to her Your Wedding Day Fanciful Garden wedding design as “Elegant, and Opulent,” and it is, of course, a good fit for any king or queen. But when asked which couples would particularly be drawn to this type of ambiance, Linda says, those who are “Bold, Colorful and Refined.”
