MMI Functions
Driver assistance systems
Use the button ~ to adjus t or operate many driver assistance systems in your Audi. For deta iled information on this, please see your vehicle Owner's Manua l.
Pairing Cell Phone to Bluetooth System Depending on your cell phone you can pa ir your phone using Secure Simple Pairing or standard pairing .
Secure Simple Pairing (SSP) • Vehicle must be stationary with ignition on . Bluetooth system will be visible for 5 min utes. • Press the ~ button on the MMI. • Select the Search for new cell phone menu item an d confirm. • Select you r Bluetooth cell phone in the display an d confirm. • Select the Handsfree menu item and confirm your se lect ion. • Select Yes to confirm the 6 digit PIN ma t ching the cell phone display. • Select PAIR on the phone to comple t e pairing .
Standard pairing • Follow steps 1-5 from above . • Select Yes t o confirm the 4 -digit PIN. • Enter the same 4-digit PIN into your cell phone . • Select PAIR on t he phone to comple t e pairi ng.
Various phones requi red tha t a confi rmation be accepte d for automa t ic future connect ions between t he phone and MMI system as well as acknowledging the synchroniza ti on of the address book between the phone and MMI.

Advanced key
Opening and closing the vehicle
With the advanced key, you can lock and unlock your vehicle without using the remote control key. You only need to carry the remote control key with you. Unlocking the vehicle: Grasp one of the door handles or the handle recess on the luggage compartment lid. Locking the vehicle: Place the selector lever in the P pos ition. Touch the sensor O on one of the door handles. Closing the luggage com[ artrent lid automatically: Press the ~ button in the open luggage compartment lid.
/!:;,.WARNING When you lock your vehicle from the outside, do not leave anyone - especially children - inside the vehicle. Remember, when you lock the vehicle from the outside the windows cannot be opened from the inside.
/!:;,.WARNING Always ensure that no one is within range of the rear lid when it is moving, in particular close to the hinges - fingers or hands can be pinched.
/!:;,.WARNING When you leave the vehicle, always remove the ignition key and take it with you. This will prevent passengers (children, for example) from accidentally being locked in the vehicle should they accidentally press the power locking switch in the front doors.
Starting the engine Switching the ignition on and off: Insert the key into the ignition lock. Do not depress the brake pedal. Press on the key. The key can only be removed when the ignition is switched off. ___ Starting the engine: Insert ~ the key into the ignition lock. 1
Depress the brake pedal and move the selec tor lever into P or N.

Stopping the engine when the vehicle is standing: Move the selector lever into P or N. Briefly press on the key. Advanced key: You can switch on the ignition and start/stop the engine using the START ENGINE STOP button without having the key inserted in the ignition lock.

Selector lever positions
P Park R Reverse N Neutral (Idle)
D/ S Drive/Sport Releasing the selector lever lock and engaging a gear: Switch the ignition on, press the brake pedal and press the lock button on the selector lever. Place the selector lever in the D/S posit ion to drive forward. When switching from D to Sor from S to D, you must move the selector lever back. tiptronic: To shift manually, move the selector lever to the right out of the D/S position. The driver information system displays the gears. Shifting up/ down: Press the selector lever forward/back.

0 Multifunction steer ing wheel Roll the left thumbwheel to select a menu item. Press the thumbwheel to confirm the selec t ion . Press the ~ button to switch between the active radio source, navigation system and telephone.
Press the ~ button briefly to activate the voice recognition system . After the <Beep>, you can say the des ired commands. To deactivate, press and hold the ~ button unt il you hear the message <Cancel>. Press the [ii] button to repeat the last navigat ion announcement.
Roll the right thumbwheel to adjust the volume. Press the thumbwhee l to mute the MMI.

Placing a phone call
Dialing a phone number from a call list: • Press the ~ button . • Turn the control knob to select Dialed
numb ers, Missed calls or Received calls and press to confirm. The phone numbers from the selected list appear in the MMI display .
• Turn the control knob to select the desired number and press to confirm or press the Dial control bu tt on.
Accessing directory contacts: • Press the ~ button. • Turn the control knob to select
Directory and press to confirm.
• Turn the control knob to select the desired contact and p ress to confirm .
• Turn the control knob to select the desired number and press to confirm or press the Call contro l button .
Setting the clock
Select in the MMI: ~ button> Time control button > Time source > manual or GPS. Manual: All menu items displayed are set manually. GPS: Time and date a re set by GPS depend ing on the manually selected Time zone. Therefore, when traveling into another time zone you must manually update the time zone in order for the time clock to update t o t he correct time.

Voice recognition system You can operate many MMI func tions comfortably using voice commands . Requirement: Switch the ign ition and MIMI on, do not use th e A/C syst em, do not have any phone calls in progress, deactivate the parking system. Switching the system on: Press the ~ button on the multifunction steering whee l briefly. Say your comman d (refer to the examples) after the <Beep> . The syst em gives visual and audio confirma tion of your input . Switching the system off: Press and hold the ~ button or say <Cancel>.
Improve recognition function : Select the ~ but ton > Setup MMI control but ton > Voice recognition > Individual Speech Training .
Sample commands Accessing a directory contact: Say <Call (XY)>, for exam ple, <Call "Max Muste rmann">. Displaying call lists: Say <Telephone> and then <Received calls>, <Dialed numbers> or <Missed calls> . Direct "One shot" destination entry: Say <Enter address> and then say the House Number, Stree t, City and State when prompted . by the system. Then say <Start route guidance>. Point of interest search: Say <Navigation>, <Enter point of interest> and then the des ired search area, such as <In immed iate vicinity>, <In vicinity of destination> or <Along the route>. Say the name or line number for the desired entry. Direct point of interest selection: Say <Navigation> and the n <Next gas sta ti on>, <Next parking lot>, <Next hotel>, <Next rest aurant >, <Next airport>, <Next train st at ion>, <Next hospi t al>, for examp le. Accessing voice command help: Say <Help>, <Help Telephone>, <Help Navigation>, <Help Media>, etc .
