World Teachers Day 2019A special thank you to Wamberal P&C for providing a lovely breakfast to say thank you to the
teachers at Wamberal PS!
2020 PlanningIf you are aware your child will not be returning to WPS in 2020 (other than Year 6 students) you
are encouraged to contact our oce accordingly. Our school carefully analyses all data to ensure

ultimately responsible for all decisions on class placement. Additional information, consistent
with our Class Formation Policy (Appendix A) is able to be completed and returned to the school
on or before Friday 29th November, 2019 (end of Week 7, Term 4). Information provided would
be consistent with conversations held with the school and/or support already accessed or

Positive Behaviour for LearningThis week our Year 6 students will be teaching all K-5 classes about the ‘High 5’ anti-bullying
and conict resolution strategies of ignore, talk friendly, walk away, talk rmly, report and be an
upstander.
The ‘High 5’ expectations are shown below.
The NSW Department of Education’s Anti-bullying site for parents and carers has a step by step
guide and resources for parents and carers for what to do when their child may have been bullied,
may have seen bullying or may have been involved in bullying.
Term 4 Rewards Day MenuOur students are busy and excited in working towards their goals for rewards
for Term 4. The PBL Rewards Day Menu is based on feedback from our K-6
students to incorporate rewards they would like to see available for the term.
We thank our WPS P&C for their ongoing support of our positive behaviour
learning programs by their generous donation of prizes available in the ‘lucky
draw’ at the end of each term. A copy of the Term 4 Rewards Day Menu is
available to download below and on our school website.

Visitor ToiletsVisitor facilities are located on the southern side of the library and are marked with a sign. These
facilities are for any adults or children who are visitors to our school. Student toilets are clearly
marked for students use only. Visitors are requested not to use the student toilets at any time.
Please see our oce sta if you are unsure of the location of the visitor facilities.
Attendance – Every Day MattersRegular attendance at school is essential to assist students to maximise their potential. If a
student misses as little as 8 days in a school term, by the end of primary of school they will have
missed over a year of school. Parents are responsible for compulsory school age children to
attend school and the school works in partnership with parents to promote regular attendance of
students.
When frequent absences are being explained due to illness, the school will:
consult with parents regarding the health needs of the student;
seek medical certicates for the absences;
seek approval from parents to contact the student’s doctor where there are ongoing concerns
so the school has all relevant information regarding the student’s health care needs; and
develop strategies to ensure regular attendance at school.
Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you are seeking support or have concerns around
your child’s attendance.
RoboticsThank you to the P&C for purchasing robotics for our students. Stage Two students started coding
last week using Lego WeDo. Students in 3 Orange had great success building 'Milo the Space
Rover' and getting him to function via the Bluetooth from the laptops and the related software.
Looking forward to our K-2 Space units using Blue-Bots and the Sphero Bolts in Stage 3.
