Remind your child what makes an insect an insect.
6 legs 3 parts to their
body-head, thorax and abdomen.

insects your child can name (ladybug, caterpillar, bee, butterfly, ant,...)
Today you will try to create an insect project. You will need
9" x 12" green construction paper (or color a while paper green)
crayons or markers
scissors
glue
Setup: Fold the green paper in half lengthwise to make a crease.
Steps:
1. Open the
MATH-Number of the week 13.Trace your hands. Count your fingers. Then count to see how many more fingers you need to reach number 13, 3 more. Then ask a family member if you can trace 3 of their fingers. Afterwards trace or write the numbers 1-13 on top of the fingers.LITERACY-Review letters Aa and Gg. Then create the insect Ant and Grasshopper.
Create an insect farm out of blocks. Section it off creating many different rooms. Place the insects inside.
Pretend to be your favorite insect.
Color a picture of your favorite insect and then frame it and give it to a family member as a present. Don’t forget to write your name on the paper.
Out of Lego create a new insect (3 parts of the body, antennas and
folded paper and position it horizontally. Draw bugs on the top half of the paper.
2. Make vertical cuts along the bottom of the paper, ending each one about an inch from the crease.
3. Spread a thin line of glue directly above the crease. Fold the paper and press to seal.
4. Adjust the grass by pulling back some of the blades.
HANDWRITING-Practice writing your name. if child is having difficulty then uses separate boxes for each letter.

Tuesday-pretend play with members of your family. Pretend you are taking a walk or shopping in the mall or supermarket. How would you use the listening rules?
Wednesday- look at the picture of Tina. What is she doing? What are the other children behaving? Are they using the listening rules?
Thursday – have your child look at the cards. Point at one of the cards and have them copy the motion and say the listening rule. Continue until you have reviewed all 4 rules.
