2 nd Grade HappeningsMaps
Over the next three weeks, we will be learning about maps and geography! Critical skills such as cardinal direction (north, west, east, south), how to read a map, identifying the world’s features will be taught to your child. The culminating project will be a globe project that we will paint and construct!
MathLast week we started learning how to measure things in meters, and how to compare the size of different objects. This week, we will learn how to measure smaller objects in centimeters.
Next week, we will continue our measurement learning, but will learn about measuring mass, rather than length!
Reading/WritingI am very excited about this week’s fairy tale unit! We are taking a break from our usual Reading Street book to focus on learning how to identify and write fairy tales! We will learn that fairy tales are stories passed down from long ago that have magical people/creatures and settings. Usually there are very bad and very good characters.
Next week, we will go back to our Reading Street units. We will focus on learning about verbs
