Welcome Welcome to Jessica Drayton, a 3rd year student from Armidale UNE who is on a three-week Prac. Small Schools’ Tennis Competition We are up to Round 5 of the Small Schools’ Tennis Competition. The draw for this Friday 17th June is as follows:- Duri A plays Timbumburi A2 - transported by Narelle Walters Duri C plays Nundle C1 - transported by Craig McDonald Please remember to bring in your $3.50 to Mrs Pearson each week that you play. Pet Day Pet Day set down for tomorrow has been postponed until next Thursday, 23rd June due to the wet weather. School Athletics Carnival Our Duri Athletics Carnival will be held on Tuesday, 21st June commencing at 9.30 am with the march and then age races commence at 9.45 am. Field events will be held after recess. Parents, grandparents, friends are welcome to attend the day. Tamworth Zone PSSA Softball Claire Brown, Hope Taylor and Emma Ison attended the softball trials last Wednesday and all three girls were successful in gaining a place in the Tamworth Zone Softball side. The Regional softball trials were postponed yesterday due to the weather and the new date is Wednesday, 22nd June. Another permission note went out today.

Debating We are debating against Blackville Public School here next Wednesday, 22nd June, commencing at 10.30 am followed by recess. The topic for debate is “Cats are better than Dogs” and we are the negative. The students on the debating team are: Lucy Cantrill, Deanna Scharffetter, Jacinta Cooper and Claire Brown is reserve. Mr Ian McEachern will be the adjudicator for the debate. Ms Dufty’s Visit Ms Ruythe Dufty, our School Education Director, will be visiting our school on Wednesday, 29th June between 9.30-11.30. Library News Yesterday was the last day for borrowing so we can get all the books returned to school by the end of the term. Year 6 T-shirts The 2011 Year 6 T-shirts have arrived and they look fantastic. Students will be asked to pay $25.00 towards the cost of these shirts. Piano Lessons Piano lessons will resume tomorrow.
