The Teacher Effectiveness Enhancement
Programme model draws on significant
educational research that has identified what is
required of teachers and of learners in order for
them to gain the best learning outcomes
possible. The model, represented in the graphic
is made up of three significant components
each with important elements that are
connected but need to be recognised
individually for their contribution to the teaching
and learning process.
The model includes a six-part lesson planning cycle (in the centre), which
is built on what we know about effective learning. The stages of learning
are shared with students so they can reflect on how to improve their own
learning.
The commitment of the teaching and support staff at All
Hallows is exceptional and this was acknowledged in a
regional teaching award for being ‘Outstanding School
Team of the Year.’
‘Lessons are planned according
to a consistent framework that
enables students to learn
sequentially and
reflectively.’

entrepreneurship.
Students start GCSE and other Level 2 courses in
Year 9, a year earlier than in some schools. This
helps to increase learning choices and optimise
achievement by the end of Year 11.
In addition to French, German and Spanish all
students have the opportunity to study Mandarin,
a major language for international business, and
Latin, which underpins an understanding of the
structure of the English language.
The curriculum is further enhanced through the
international dimension, enterprise learning days
and opportunities for outdoor learning through our
College farm and gardens.
In Year 12 and 13 there is an extensive choice of A
Levels for students and also a variety of Level 2
and 3 vocational courses to cater for all needs in
our highly successful Sixth Form.
