History
Metaspheres Metallurgical Process for Nano Structuring of Powder Materials is the result of 20 years of metallurgic research.
A full scale Pilot Plant was built in Luleå, Sweden 2010 to 2012. In December 2012 was the first batch of Tungsten Carbide Powder produced, having unseen material characteristics. Luleå Technical University, SWEREA-MEFOS and LKAB-METLAB has been valuable resources.
The first years was characterized by optimization of the process and Marketing and Sales of sample volumes to the market for validation
Today Metasphere is delivering tonnage to the market and is investing in a 20-fold production capacity. At the time has two Absolutely Novel Powder Materials been developed.
14
Growth path
Metaspheres is 2020 acknowledged to supply the Best Spherical Tungsten Carbide Powder in the world. Metasphere is also known to be the #1 supplier of designed spherical powder materials.
Metaspheres Nano Structuring Process can and will have a positive impact on the Raw Material sector, by providing the global industry with new, unseen, materials that will enable cost efficient improvements in most applications.
Metaspheres Process uses recycled materials, is extremely Energy saving and is a closed process without any emission of hazardous elements. I.e. Metaspheres Process is Sustainable, Environmentally Friendly and thus has a positive impact on the Circular Economy.
15
Conditions for growth
Access to Funding on reasonable terms.
Updated Standardized Test Methods that can test Metaspheres extreme material characteristics. E.g. Hardness of Tungsten Carbide.
Access to qualified personnel.
Reduction of trade obstacles such as some REACH specifics.

The impact of KIC EIT RawMaterials
An early Financial support from a KIC-EIT would definitely have speeded up our Time to Market
Any Start-Up within the sector of raw materials would benefit from an access to a wide pan European network
Metasphere would have benefited to get early contacts with industrial partners of the KIC-EIT. E.g. H C Starck GmbH, ERAMET and Höganäs AB.
Belonging to a Community is always good and edifying for a Start-Up
