Snack & misc.
Students are welcome to eat a healthy snack in the
classroom at the following times:
Morning reading centers (9:45-10:45)
Afternoon math centers (2:35-3:00)
Our room can get pretty chilly during the day- if
possible please send a sweatshirt to school for students
to keep in their lockers.

S.T.A.R. testing to help identify “good-fit” books. Goal = 1 quiz (or more) per week, in class. At students level Informative for student to know if they are choosing the
correct books and if they re understanding what they are reading.

Parent Expectations
Have a meaningful discussion about your child’s day.
Ask your child to SHOW you contents of his/her Take Home Folder each evening. Periodic HW check-in.
Read, sign, and return your child’s Friday Letter at the end of each week.
Encourage your child to read anything and everything.
Encourage your child to write; cards, letters, lists, poems, stories, etc.

Students earn points daily
At the end of each week, points are turned into “Baum Bucks”. These can be used to purchase reward coupons.
Make sure to check your child’s Dojo Portfolio! Students will learn how to post work they are proud of on their portfolio. If you comment, they can see it!
