Welcome to Iceland!
The Nordic Drinking Water Conference has been arranged every second year in the Nordic countries since 1998.
In 2016 the venue is the Harpa Reykjavík conference center and concert hall, in the very centre of Reykjavík.
Samorka - Icelandic Energy and Utilities, organizes the 10th Nordic Drinking Water Conference in cooperation
with the other Nordic water and wastewater associations: DANVA, Norsk Vann, Svenskt Vatten, FIWA and
NORDIWA.
The conference provides a forum for professionals in the drinking water industry to share experience, knowledge
and skills as well as to interact. The conference program offers a comprehensive cross section of the current
research and developement activities in the Nordic countries. On offer are 90 presentations over 3 days,
organized into 5 themes:
Planning, management and education
Safety and security in the drinking water supply
Distribution systems
Drinking water treatment and quality
Water safety in small water works in the Nordic countries
We will also have 4 extensive and interesting workshops about water safety plans, biofilms, membranes and
cooperation in research and developement in the Nordic countries. There will be a special emphasis on the poster
presentations, where you will find 30 excellent offerings, along with additional posters and side meetings for the
participants. We hope that the schedule will give participants new knowledge and ideas as well as new
connections.
One of the highlights of the conference will be a scientific excursion ending with the conference dinner at the
world famous Blue Lagoon. We will take a water tour around Reykjanes peninsula, examine the workings of an
Icelandic water utility (HS Veitur), along with the amazing nature on display in the region. The excursion will then
visit the Blue Lagoon before the conference dinner takes place at the LAVA restaurant. For further information,
please visit the official website of the 10th Nordic Dinking Water Conference:
