Welcome to Ram Falls Provincial ParkThe Ram River plunges 20 metres over a thin layer of hard sandstone just a short walk from the provincial park campground. A viewing platform for breathtaking views of the falls and the Ram River valley is on the north side of the river, downstream from the falls.
The canyon is a contrast of eroded shale and sandstone where golden eagles may be seen soaring on the air currents. In the fall, you may see other birds of prey like bald eagles, merlins and American kestrels. Watch for American dippers, small and dark birds that feed on insects in the rushing water. In the river, cutthroat trout rise to the surface to feed on mayflies and caddisflies.
Bighorn sheep can be seen on the slopes of the 2850-metre Ram Range throughout the year—often near the falls.
