WELCOMEWELCOMEWELCOMEWELCOME You enter this Church ... not as a stranger, but as a guest of God. He is your heavenly Father. Come, then, with joy in your heart and thanks on your lips into His presence, offering Him your love and service. Be grateful to the strong and loyal ones who, in the name of Jesus Christ, built this place of worship, and to all who have beautified it and hallowed it with their prayers and praise. Ask His blessing on those who love His house of faith as the inspiration of their labor, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit, and may that blessing rest on you, both on your going out and your coming in.

A YEAR OF MERCY WITH POPE FRANCIS
Today, unfortunately, the speculative economy
makes the poor even poorer, depriving them of the
essentials, such as housing and employment. This
is unacceptable! Those who live solidarity don’t
accept it and the take action.
And this word, “solidarity,” many people
want to eliminate it from the dictionary because
some cultures see it as a bad word. No! Solidarity
is a Christian word! And this is why you are the
family of the homeless, friends of disabled persons,
who – when loved – express great humanity.
Reflection: How can you be in solidarity with the
poor? Are you willing to open your eyes and really
see the poverty in your area? Are you willing to
consider how can serve? REMEMBER IN YOUR PRAYERS: Please keep in your prayers: Christina Aquia, Sharon Austin, Tim Branagan, Selby Fortney, Bruce Hineline, Rylee Maslock, Louis McConnell, Melnychuk Family, Dot Parker and Bob Schleicher.

PASTOR’S CORNER YOU KNOW THAT I DO
There is an old saying that says “if you say something THREE times, you really mean what you really say”. As a child sitting in front TV, my mother would call from the kitchen, “supper’s ready”. So in tune with the TV program, the words of my mother seemed to go in one ear and out the other. A second time she would call, “supper’s ready” and her beckoning call again was ignored. When mother called the third time “supper’s ready” the tone in her voice registered in my mind that if you don’t come, you won’t eat. She really meant what she said. In our Gospel today, Jesus asks Peter “Do you love me?” and Peter responds “Yes, I do love you”. When asked a second time “Do you love me?” Again Peter replies, “Yes Lord, you know that I love you.” Then when asked a third time “Do you love ME?” Peter in desperation exclaims, “Lord, you know that I love you.” This intensely personal scene is about reconciliation and forgiveness. Peter’s three affirmations supersede the three denials. Peter is told to “Feed my sheep”. Just as Jesus spoke of himself many times as the Good Shepherd who knows his sheep, Peter is now to be the shepherd of this new faith community that believes in a resurrected Lord, a community that has been sent out to proclaim his Easter Gospel of love and mercy and new life. Not only to Peter but to all of us are called to respond to the question “do you love me?” Our faith response “you know that I do” indicates that we really mean what we really say and that we will follow Jesus, do as he did, love as he loved. Forgive as he forgave. We are after all an Easter people, and Alleluia people called to proclaim the Good News of what the Lord in His goodness has done for you.
God Loves you & So do I, Fr Joe
We warmly welcome all visitors to our parish community. We hope you leave with great comfort. God’s Blessing for you and your family. Join us anytime.
