winning the first Dennis Neal Memorial Champion

was named reserve champion, while Emma Nash
continued her domination with another Hack
Challenge win on Waymere Oaks Identity.
Thank you to J & S Photography for allowing

G'day Members,
Well the campdraft has been done and dusted, the weather fantastic, the cattle were great and a fun
day was had by all. Welldone to everyone involved.
Congratulations to David Nash and Waymere oaks Enterprise on winning the inaugral Dennis Neal
Memorial Champion Working at the recent East Gippsland Branch Show and challenge. Well done
to Mat Holz and Peter Aposto with their horse Bulla Tamborine on winning the prestigious Land-
mark Classic Campdraft at Tamworth. Peter purchased Tamborine 12 months prior at the Landmark
Sale.
Next on the Agenda is our AGM to be held at the Royal Hotel in Drouin on Friday May 22nd start-
ing at 6pm.
We are delighted to have guest speaker Michael Hiscock sharing his experiences in campdrafting.

LANDMARK CLASSIC DRAFT 2015 The 7th Landmark Classic Draft and Sale was again held in February in Tamworth and this
year saw 349 horses hoping to win one of Australia’s Richest and Prestigious drafts.
Gippslanders Mat Holz, Peter Aposto, Fiona DiPetta, Glen Stephenson and Tracey Sadler
made the trek to Tamworth together. Peter Aposto taking his little mare Bulla Tambourine and
stallion Darma Acres of Impact, Fiona DiPetta taking Tarraway Grace and Glen Stephenson with
Glenore Scoot n Spin.
After the first round of the Classic Mat Holz and Bulla Tambourine were second with a 91,
Tarraway Grace had an 88 and Glenore Scoot n Spin with an 83.
The second round saw Bulla Tambourine with an equal second on 88 and equal lead overall
with Pete Comiskey and Ervines Just Jim. Glenore Scoot n Spin also with an 88 and Tarraway
Grace unlucky to get a 22 only.
This gave Mat two rides in the Classic Final, Bulla Tambourine on 179 and Glenore Scoot n
Spin on 171. This must have been the most exciting Classic Final to watch, as Pete and Mat
both scored an 89 to force an unprecedented runoff for the title. Mat won the toss and elected
to go in first knowing this little mare Tambourine had what it takes to put in another solid run
ending with an 87. Unfortunately for Pete and Just Jim the beast ducked inside the first peg
leaving him with a camp score only.
This was an amazing result considering Bulla Tambourine had only been to 3 drafts prior to
going to the Classic and she
was only 4 years of age. Peter
purchased the mare because of
her exceptional breeding and
athletic ability. She is a
valuable asset to Peter’s
breeding program and we look
forward to her future progeny.
Peter’s ongoing support
has been invaluable not only to
us but also to West Gippsland
Branch. Thank you Peter
Mat also managed to get 2
horses into the Challenge Final,
Tarraway Grace and Glenore
Scoot n Spin. Glenore Scoot n
Spin won the Preliminary Wet
Work and ended up 13th
Overall and Tarraway Grace
finished 9th Overall.
