 WEST WRFM: Successful ProductionSystem Optimisation Review

On the heels of the first review facilitated by the IntegratedProduction System Modeling (IPSM) Global DeliveryTeam (GDT), the WEST asset held its second ProductionSystem Optimisation (PSO) review in BAPSLH. The focusof the PSO review was AMPA1/20. This area is one of 

the highest producing platforms in the WEST.

As recommended by the GDT, several weeks of pre-work had to beaccomplished before the actual review. The preparation included asite visit, reviewing Operating envelopes to create limit diagrams aswell as reviewing and calibrating Well Models and Gas Lift models.

During the PSO review itself, an overview of the facility includingknown limits and opportunities were discussed. Next, SurveillanceFindings were presented by the various disciplines in attendance.These findings were then discussed in more detail during abrainstorming session. In this way, Opportunities could be identifiedand defined effectively, with the maximum amount of availableinformation.

In the spirit of WelcomingChallenges and Providing Support, themulti-discipline team heard findings fromthe Well Owners, PSO OperationsEngineer and PSO Gaslift Engineer. Thiswas also the first PSO review where arepresentative from Shell Projects &Techonology, Sambit Sahu, was giventhe opportunity to share findings fromthe Production Universe (PU) model.

The PSO review generated a total of 21 opportunities as well as significantsavings on Gaslift. Some opportunitiesthat require more evaluation may yetproduce more gains.

PSO reviews and IPSM modeling arean integral part of Well ReservoirFacilities Management (WRFM). These

are both minimum requirements inOperational Excellence Blade 27.Several more reviews were donethroughout the WEST in 2012.
