Supreme Court Upholds ACA Subsidies in King v. BurwellWhat Does it Mean for O&P? Insurance premium subsidies will continue to flow to Americans in all statesunder the Affordable Care Act, the U.S. Supreme Court decided 6­3 in King v.Burwell on June 25. The justices sided with the Obama administration in thehistoric decision, saying the healthcare law allows Americans in all states­notjust those that established their own exchanges­to receive the subsidies. AOPA and O&P Alliance Meets with CMS Deputy AdministratorDr. Shantanu AgrawalSeveral Requests Made as We Seek Tangible Policy Changes

On June 3, the O&P Alliance, including AOPA's President Charles Dankmeyer, and ExecutiveDirector Tom Fise, JD, met with the Deputy Administrator and Director of the Center for ProgramIntegrity at CMS. The meeting included several topics: local coverage determination (LCD)recognition of O&P clinicians' notes as part of the medical record; who can bill Medicare forprefabricated and custom­fitted orthotics and the definition of "minimal self­adjustment"; and auditconcerns about new proof of delivery requirements.
