What is a Family?
By: Eugenia Puche
“To me family are the people in your life who you may be related to by blood, marriage, or choice. They are your support system, the people who accept you for who you are and the people who
you hold dear to your heart and would do anything to help them when needed even if it
meant making personal sacrifices. They are the people you laugh with, cry with and argue with. A family will stay by your side through the good
and the bad. Friends may come and go, but families are there for a lifetime.”
“ Family to me is the unity of people who have the same values,
principles, respect, and love for one another. It is where unconditional
love for one another exists.” – Pamela Puche, 45
“Family is a group of people that love and trust each other. People you can
rely on at anytime.” – Nathan Reading, 16
“ Family are the people who I can be myself with, have no worries about embarrassment and someone who I
can always go to.” –Justin Watson, 23
“A Family are people who hopefully, love, care, respect, argue, set goals,
share problems, worship, are committed and support each other.
Regardless of whether they are single, married, same sex, different sex, living together, kids, no kids,
pets, just friends, they are family and thank heaven for the people who make up families.” – Hali Platt ,19
“ Family to me is work, hard work, but work worth the sacrifice. The people you love the and hate the most at
times, but you always work the hardest for them. Family is true
love.” –Evan Waechtler, 21
“The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through
life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's
desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing,
defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us
all together.” ~Erma Bombeck
Families come in all different forms and sizes, but it is those differences that
make each family unique. In the end it doesn’t matter who is in our family, but what is shared within a family and that
each unit is centered around love.
The End!
