Egypt is known as a land of mysteries and no otherplace has remarkable mysteries like this. Mysterysurrounds its religion, its origin and its monumentalarchitecture such as pyramids, temples and theenormous Sphinx.
The Egyptians believed that the soul and body wereimportant to human existence in both life and death.Their unique funerary practices were designed tofind their path in the afterworld. They mummified
their bodies and buried them in tombs that werefilled with all necessities of life such as food, domestic wares and treasures. They believed thesoul returns to the body after the death so doing
this would ensure happy life ever after.

The famous tombs are the pyramids. These
were the largest ever built. These constructions
were highly engineered. Paid workers moved huge
lime stones blocks without using wheels, iron tools
and horses. They did it because they believed
doing this would improve their own prospects in
the afterlife.

The unsinkable Titanic is by far the most famous
shipwreck of all time, which is in large part due to
the popular movie released in the late 1990s. TheTitanic set off on her maiden voyage in April of 1912
with 2,227 passengers and crew, and a few days
later struck an iceberg then sank about 350 miles
southeast of Newfoundland, Canada. In the wreck,
1,522 people were lost at sea.
The Titanic wreck was discovered in 1985
approximately 12,500 feet below the surface of theNorth Atlantic. The wreck has been photographed
by underwater remotely operated vehicles; its far
too deep for scuba divers to dive there.

There is a scientific explanation behind the
cause of the lights. The auroras receive power
from the sun. When electrically charged
particles leave the sun and enter the earths
magnetic field, some of the energy created in
the upper atmosphere creates an aurora light
show. The colors will change depending on
how the electrons penetrate the atmosphereand which atoms are affected.

4- EASTER ISLAND
THE STATUES THAT WALKED
One of the greatest mysteries on Earth are the statuteswhich stand on Easter Island. Easter Island, RAPA NUI is
one of the most remote islands on Earth. It is in thesouthern Pacific Ocean, 2,300 miles west of the coast of
Chile and 2500 miles southeast of Tahiti. Easter Island, which was almost uninhabited when it was discovered onEaster Day in 1722 by a Dutch captain, is covered withhundreds of giant statutes called MOAI, each weighing
several tons and some standing more than 30 feet tall.
Who built these statutes and why and how did they
get there?

There are 887 statutes which have been discoveredon the island. However, only a few statues made itto their intended destination. The rest were
abandoned along the way.
The statues appear to have been carved out of thetop edge of the walls of a volcano on the island. After a statue was carved, it may have been rolledor dragged down to the base of the volcano. Then,it was stood upright and ropes were tied around it.Using a pulley system, the statue was walked to its
intended destination. Perhaps the statues, known as moai, were
"engineered to move" upright in a rocking motion, using only manpower and rope.
