Why Hello
There...
So before you start turning the pages of our first Yorkshire Does Vintage Magazine we thought we’d introduce ourselves!
“I’m a not so secret lover of all things Westlife” “I still have (and use)
my rollerblades!”
“I still have busted memorabilia in my room from when I was a massive fan back in the day!” “I’m a complete leopard
print obsessive”
“My childhood crush was Rick Moranis from Honey I Shrunk the Kids”
From the editors...Firstly, thank you for picking up Yorkshire Does
Vintage - The Magazine! We are very proud of this
first edition - and we are by no means editors or
graphic designers, infact English wasn't even our
strongest subject! We've created this magazine
to say thank you for all of your support, and to
share with you our love of vintage! This magazine
has been a labour of love, not only by ourselves,
but by our fantasic team - we really hope you
enjoy it! So grab a coffee, a slice of cake
(you know you want to) and treat yourself
to a bit of 'me' time! Alex &

Prepare the skin by using a moisturiser and a primer. Next apply the foundation starting at the centre of the face and working outwards. To cover up any darkness under the eyes I used a concealer which was slightly lighter than the foundation to illuminate and provide coverage.
Eyebrows are key to framing your face. Use a shadow in a colour slightly lighter than your hair colour. Follow the natural shape of your brow, using the eyeshadow to fill in any gaps. Sweep a matte white eyeshadow up to the browbone to brighten and even out the colour of the eyelids.
To finish off the look, and to keep in line with the glamourous forties pin up style, I have used a matte cherry red coloured lipstick. Marilyn famously used Guerlain Rouge Diabolique Lipstick which has since been discontinued. Instead, and as a cheaper option, I’ve used 17 Lasting Fix Lipstick.
Pure white colours look amazing on alabaster skin but beiges and dark taupes work for darker skin as the result is less stark. Marilyn Monroe used an Elizabeth Arden white eyeshadow stick. Apply lashings of mascara! Line the eyes with a black eyeliner. If you wish to open up your eyes further, apply a nude/white eyeliner along the lower waterline.
1. You are known for your exquisite wedding fairs and the hard work you put into them, what can guests expect to find and indulge in at the Ripon Wedding Special in January?
Thank You! This show is designed to wow the bride and groom with interactive zones, professional catwalk shows and of course, a fantastice vintage section! There’s a few more surprises that we can’t tell you yet though!
2. Make us jealous and describe the most romantic proposal you have ever heard about!
Ah this was a lovely story. The groom to be knew his girlfriend loved the Bronte sisters work, and he arranged to take her up to Haworth where she had to follow a set of clues, until she was finally up on the moors, Wuthering Heights style! He then presents her with a miniature version of the book and inside was the question, “Will you marry me?”. Needless to say, she said yes!
3. Among the stunning vintage celebrity weddings, which stands out to you the most and why?
Natalie Portman’s wedding was beautiful, with a vintage style tea length dress and a circlet of flowers for her hair. She had a night time ceremony on a hillside with only 60 close family and friends, instead of a showbiz wedding for hundreds. We love this wedding!
