Downtown Art Scavenger Hunt

Downtown Fond du Lac is filled with history, art and architecture. From the beauty of Hamilton Park

and the Fond du Lac River to the vibrancy of Fond du Lac’s downtown district, there is so much to

experience including these splendid public art installations. Find all 15 and fill out the entry form on

the back for your chance to win a $10 Downtown Fond du Lac Gift Certificate.

Hint: These “Lakeside Park Flower Beds” are planted across the street from Thrive Church

Hint: A piece of “Fondy’s Music Scene” can be found by the community garden, across from the Salute

the Troops office. We hope you enjoy more of what the Fond du Lac music scene offers all summer long.

Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts is one of the many places to take in a concert this summer.

Hint: This map is down the road from Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts and right across the street from

another one of “Historic, Iconic Fond du Lac’s” six downtown galleries.

Do you know what “Ubuntu” means? Stop in and ask Sue!

Hint: These “SAILBOATS” aren’t too far from water - just one block east of the Fond du Lac River. On

Main Street, they can be seen from Fond du Lac’s own, Hopper’s Silk Screening & All Star Trophy.

Hint: This colorful piece, named “Transfiguration” is located near the new transformation of the historic

Hotel Retlaw.

Hint: Don’t miss the “Cat Box”!. If you stand at the entrance of Fat Joe’s, you’ll see this fat, playful feline.

Hint: This artist’s “Watercolor Palette” can be seen from the banks of the Fond du Lac River, a hop, skip,

and jump away from St. Paul’s Cathedral.

Hint: This “Lakeside Delight” may not be located at Lakeside Park, but it is on the western shores of the

Fond du Lac River, right in Hamilton Park.

Hint: “The Power of Water, Wind & Light” shows the beauty of Lakeside Park, which is the home to

Art on the Island Art Fair, Sunday, June 2nd. Stop at Annie’s Fountain City Café to see this gem.

Hint: This piece includes two unique pieces done by local artist, Sarah Newton. You might find Sarah at

The Fond du Lac Public Library, but you will find her artwork “Milk Bath” & “Nosy Neighbor” across from

another one of downtown’s fine art galleries, Gallery & Frame Shop.

Hint: You will find more of Sarah’s work, “Coco Cow-nel” and “Dog Days of Summer” right outside the

Hint: Not too far from Downtown Fond du Lac’s newest restaurant, The Brick House, you will find this

colorful version of “Winnebago; Above and Below”. Make sure to get out this summer and enjoy the real

Lake Winnebago and all the fun activities you can choose from.

Hint: Come see the beauty that is “Lakeside Park” at Walleye Weekend, June 7th – 9th or find this

beautiful photo taken by Fond du Lac local, Casey French right next to the Sunny 97 studios.

Hint: Don’t be confused by the lifelike oil painting of Laura Steinmetz. “First & Main” can be found across

from another of downtown’s wonderful fine art galleries, Riverwalk Art Studio.

Hint: Claire Zankle was one of the 2018 Art All Around Featured Artists. Claire also painted these “Fish of

Lake Winnebago” which can be found by the big black & red trucks of Dreifuerst & Sons Moving &

Storage.
