Process of creating my Double Page Spread

STAGE 1.I began with a

photo of the lead singer. Then to make it look like this I used the charcoal effect in the texturizer and used only the colours black and red. After this I used the dodge and burn tool to highlight some parts I wanted to bring out.

In this stage, I placed a layer of the original image of the lead singer over the top of the charcoal one and dropped the opacity to what was necessary so that details such as the face and shirt where still visible.

STAGE 2.

By this stage, I had designed the title for the DPS and rendered it in such a way that it looked ‘fiery’ and had a lot of ‘punch’ to it. Also I used the extract tool on another image of the lead singer and imported him into the bottom right hand corner of the DPS. Then I used curves and levels to correct the colours. As well as then adding the page numbers, I had used the polygonal lasso tool to select an image of the drummer that I then used Gaussian blur on for a reason that will be uncovered in the next slide…

STAGE 3.

In the final stage I then imported the un-blurred image of the drummer over the top of the Gaussian one and then lowered the opacity so that it would look like it was glowing. Of course in this stage I inserted the interview between me and the band. Finally, I added some text explaining the cut-out images in the bottom corners.
