Design and ArtworkWhere budgets may be restrictive, we can offer a complete design service from concept to a finished press ready design. This includes the creation of simple stationery, company brochures, complex mail-order catalogues, POS and exhibition materials or packaging. This can be a particularly attractive solution when extending artwork designed for print to other media such as online, eBook Readers or other digital solutions. This service includes all aspects of the design process as well as typesetting and make-up.

Creative and Prepress

PrepressFrom design through to print, we pride ourselves on full colour management to ensure complete consistency with colour. All our files can be hard or soft proofed. As part of our prepress service we also include scanning, eBook publishing and online publishing. Our combination of technical skill, brand awareness and creativity makes it possible for us to achieve exceptional imagery for our clients. This can involve high end content creation where images are created from scratch, or image manipulation and retouching to revise or enhance existing material.

PrintingDigital printing has revolutionised the way that print can be used to communicate. Whereas conventional lithographic printing was expensive for small runs, digital printing allows clients to order any quantity. In addition, the personalisation features of digital printing are a marketor’s dream. Datum uses high quality HP Indigo presses to deliver the very best results.

Collating, Packing & DistributionDatum’s team of hand finishers and enclosers can turn around projects in the blink of an eye. We adopt a flexible approach to each campaign, fully considering each project in order to maximise efficiency, accuracy and quality. Our relationships with couriers are well established and we use the best method to deliver your project into the right hands. All deliveries are supported by proof of delivery, online tracking and email and text notifications.

The BriefJollyes is one of the largest chains of pet food superstores across Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Due to the nature of their business, POS campaigns are required at short notice so that Jollyes can offer up-to-date store-specific promotions.

The ExecutionDatum worked closely with Jollyes to ensure that a set of master artwork and proofs were in place. This meant that when orders were placed, brand consistency was easy to maintain across both colour and content.

The Conclusion95% of all orders are received, printed and despatched within 12 hours.

The BriefThe brief was to create a fresh and clear brand for the college across external and internal graphics and signage.

The ExecutionDatum put together all the design concepts over a weekend, ready for Southwark College to review the following week. This was quickly approved for production and print.

The ConclusionThe project included leaflets, pull up banners, A frames, signage and press advertising. The installation was delivered ahead of schedule and within budget.

The Big Kick Budweiser 66Promotion Case Study

The Brief Our client, The Big Kick, wanted to run a sampling promotion in student unions around the UK. The objective was to target the busiest nights and give away free samples of the new Budweiser brand, Bud 66. Using experiential marketing techniques.

The ExecutionWe had 48 hours to produce 5 Batak Machine Boards, 350 A2 Promotional Posters, 5 Pull up Stands, 5000 A5 leaflets, 10,000 Handout Cards and 20 Bottle-bins. The Batak boards were printed direct to substrate; the posters were printed litho. Leaflets and handout cards were digitally printed. The pull-up stands and bottle bins were printed on our large format presses. The bottle bins were supplied blue so had to be sprayed black before any vinyl could be applied.

We were able to hit the deadline and budget ensuring the events could take place the following day. This project called upon all of our resources and being able to turn around a sizeable project, including excellent project management

The BriefWorld Sessions is an independent events and communications agency based in London and Chamonix. The brief was to find a reliable company in the UK to fulfil the needs of both UK and French based projects from concept to delivery of print production.

The ExecutionThe nature of World Sessions business inevitably has tight time schedules. Throughout the winter season, a typical job would require a three day turnaround from design concept to print and delivery in Chamonix.

ConclusionThe ongoing design and print with World Sessions has been a great success as they know they can rely on Datum for each project to run smoothly, on time and on budget. As a result, we now deliver each week to Chamonix and oversee the contributions of other suppliers on behalf of World Sessions.
