Baker’s career includes more than 20 years with The DIRECTV Group and its former parent company. Between 1998 and 2006, he held leadership positions with DIRECTV Latin America and DIRECTV Japan, as well as several senior-level financial and operational roles.

Most recently Baker was executive vice president and chief operating officer for On Command Corporation where he led the integration of On Command into its new parent company, LodgeNet. Also, as a managing director at Nightingale and Associates, LLP, Dr. Baker restructured a $350 million construction company to return it to profitability.

Prior to DIRECTV (and its corporate predecessor Hughes Aircraft Company), Dr. Baker was at Weyerhaeuser Company from April 1980 – March 1982 as an engineer in raw materials (i.e., forest products--trees) R&D in Federal Way, Washington and then worked as an operations research analyst for Getty Oil Company from April 1982 to April 1985 in Los Angeles, California.

She was a class officer, Charles Oliver Gray Scholar, member of Tau Beta Gama, Phi Delta Alpha, and Alpha Chi Societies, officer of Sociology Club, member of Outing Club and Chorus and established the William and Jane Pilloni Scholarship Fund. She also served on Enrollment Committee, served with her husband, Bill, as decade chairpersons of the Tusculum College 2000 Campaign, and she was a team captain of successful Pioneer Club Campaign.

She moved to New Jersey in 1960, where she attended Montclair State College in order to further her undergraduate studies. Jane Pilloni taught for a few years before working in a physician’s office for 32 years. She was very active in Bloomfield (N.J.) Presbyterian Church and held offices in home and school associations while her children were in school. In 2004 she moved back to Greeneville, where she is currently active in the First Presbyterian Church. She has two sons: Craig, a pilot for Continental Airlines, and John, a Lieutenant Colonel in the U. S. Army, who works as a professor at the U.S Army Command and General Staff College at Ft.
