Dr. Paola CubillosM.D

Dr. Paola Cubillos is a graduate of the Universidad del Rosario - Faculty of Medicine in Bogotá, Colombia, and received her naturopathic medicine degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Through her integrative medicine practice in Canada, she became familiar with the Canadian medical cannabis system and had an opportunity to understand the impact cannabinoid-based medicines can have on the health and wellbeing of an individual.

Over the past years, Dr. Paola has focused her e�orts into expanding the knowledge base as it relates to the evidence-based applications of medical cannabis. She has designed and conducted medical cannabis attitudes and perception studies for both health care professionals and patients, conducted literature reviews on the intersection between medical cannabis, the endocannabinoid system and post-traumatic stress disorder. Dr. Paola has conducted analysis of quality of medical cannabis content in commonly visited Spanish-speaking sites and has carried out environmental scans on the medical cannabis landscape in Colombia and South America. Dr. Paola has also participated in international research collaborations, such as scoping reviews of cannabis use questionnaires and key content domains and a scoping review on the e�cacy of cannabis in chronic disease.

Dr. Paola has also wide experience in the �eld of medical research, as she has lead the Oncology Research Ethics Board at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto in the past, and is currently a member of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine’s Research Ethics Committee and the chair of the Research Ethics Board at Clinica Las Américas in Medellín, Colombia.

Dr. Cubillos is also an internationally-recognized speaker. She has lectured on medical cannabis in Spain, Peru, Canada and has been invited to speak about the endocannabinoid system, medical cannabis myths and realities, medical cannabis and posttraumatic stress disorders, the use of medical cannabis in the treatment of pain in both academic and industry-led events. Additionally, Dr. Paola has been quoted in local and international news articles that discuss medical cannabis from a scienti�c or industry view point.
