View in a web browser Dr. Poonam Singh, Prison Project Manager (Female) With her firm believe in empowerment & development for females and their children Dr. Poonam Singh joined us in July 2016. Her association has benefitted us not only with her expertise from the government sector but also her passion to work for welfare of females has helped us to get more females on board for reformation activities. Her multitasking in terms of finding family members & internal counselling has resolved many issues till date. Dr. Poonam is pursuing her law degree now and wishes to enrich lives of many more females in coming times with this project. Children’s day celebration at Tagore International School, Delhi Our children were super happy with this amazing program organized by Family Vision Foundation a great opportunity to enjoy childhood days and socialize with children from other NGO’s . About 115 children of the project became part of the celebration. Our children played many games and won gifts. Thanks Rohit, Founder, Family Vision Foundation for having our children. Visit by Students of GL Bajaj Institute to Assisi Convent We were glad to have GL Bajaj students at Assisi Convent School, our Residential Partner School. Together they celebrated Mantasha’s birthday & sang songs. The students interacted with our children and distributed gifts. A happy visit by students that made our children enjoy this amazing time. Reeta Peshawaria - Menon Fellowship Award for the year 2018 Congratulations Mr. Rajesh Ramachandran! We are happy to announce him as the winner of the Reeta Peshawaria - Menon Fellowship Award for the year 2018. His proposal was on “Effective transition for students with multiple Disabilities – A model: A Resource book for Rehabilitation Professionals and Parents”. Dr. Poonam Singh, Prison Project Manager (Female)

With her firm believe in empowerment & development for females andtheir children Dr. Poonam Singh joined us in July 2016. We were glad to have GL Bajaj students at Assisi ConventSchool, our Residential Partner School. Together theycelebrated Mantasha’s birthday & sang songs. The studentsinteracted with our children and distributed gifts. A happyvisit by students that made our children enjoy this amazingtime.

Dasna Visit by Mr. Abhinav Vikas from HCL Foundation

A small visit by Mr. Abhinav was done in Dasna Prison Femaleward. After his visit he shared with us that he was very happy tosee the female inmates doing so well at the Computer Centre hefurther said - "I am inspired to meet the students and this is the realmotivation that I feel all around."

More than 35 inmates of Dasna are Computer literate now. Here’s aglimpse of Male inmates from

FaridabadOur inmates are always happy & excited to learn new things. This time ourmale & female beneficiaries were introduced to greeting card & paperflowers and basket making. Good effort by coordinators from FaridabadPrison.

In order to help inmates to boost their confidence and also eliminate fear ofPublic speaking Prison Project Coordinator initiated a daily speech practicesession in which all the beneficiaries practiced on mic daily for an hour toenhance their speaking skills.

Celebrating 58 years of Haryana State on this Haryana Diwas

A small play was prepared & performed by inmates that highlightedthe role of females as HEROES. After the play beneficiaries sangRaagini (Traditional Folk Music) and the Superintendent explainedthe history of Haryana and wished all the beneficiaries.

Constitution Week Celebration in Central Jail-05

On the occasion of Constitution week an open house Q&A wasconducted in presence of Delhi High Court Judge Mr. B.T. Kaul,Director Judicial Academy Ms. Neena Kishna Bansal, and AdditionalDirector Anuradha Shukla with 30 Judges. Inmates asked pertinentquestions about the bail & other issues this a very fruitful session withthe judiciary.

Sahyog Sabha

The inmates were told about the purpose of the ‘Sahyog day’. Asmall team of inmates is formed to extend help to inmates who arenew in the judicial custody. The team is responsible to discuss,deliberate and problem solve their personal and jail problems. Themembers of the team shall assist the ones who require their helpfrom time to time. This team represents IVF as a bridge which

connects the inmates with their families and shows them the right path in a fruitful manner.

Residential Support Programme

Birthday Celebration at Sanjoepuram

What a wonderful time our Children had at this grandBirthday Celebration 75 children were happily a part of thisgrand celebration. It started with an ice-breaking actionsong followed by a small Talent Show. As we all knowBirthday celebrations calls for Cake Cutting and we wereglad to receive delicious cakes by Zoet Desserts. Thanks toDipika & Geeta for these amazing cakes our children lovedthe taste and relished the cakes sent by you.

Session on "Girl Power"

A small session with seven girls of children's village, Sanjoepuram was conducted. The sessionstarted with the story of Rukhmabai, the first medical officer in India. Girls actively participatedin the session followed by a Question & Answer (Q&A) on two different situations. Further, aposter making activity related with the subject was done.

Psychological Interventions

Akshay is a part of our Residential School Programme under Children ofVulnerable Families (CVF) Project. Initially, Akshay was identified withminor issues of Aggression, Carelessness & low performance in academics.In order to improve on these identified issues and also a few more Akshaystarted attending group sessions conducted by our Psychologist thatreflected minor changes in his behavior. Further, he was asked to attend the

Individual sessions which reflected amazing changes like raise in academic performance, use ofEnglish words & sentences during communication, his attitude has shown a more responsibleand managed routine that he has started following. We are glad to witness & share thesechanges in Akshay with you all. The better our kids perform the happier we feel!

Community Empowerment Programme

Workshop on Good & Bad Touch

A three day workshop by Umeed Ki Kiran with 32 children of ourBawana on Good Touch & Bad Touch was conducted. Ourchildren actively took part in this workshop and shared personalstories, did role plays and also did a small demo on safety. Further,a safety kit was given to children that had a whistle, Smiley Ball,Notebook & other small items of use. We would like to extendheartfelt Thanks to Umeed Ki Kiran & Manpreet for helping our

children to learn about these basics.

Session on Gender Sensitization & Equality

A 3 hour session on Gender Equality and Sensitization wasconducted the main objective of this workshop was toreinforce the rights of the girl child and to help remove theengendered imbalance and inequality hovering over society.The workshop highlighted issues like violence, sexual abuse,forced marriage, poverty, female infanticide, discrimination

and harassment. The boys were also able to identify these issues and talk about how they canmake a change on a micro level by transforming their own bias attitude. Further, a screening ofa small video about Suro Kumari, was shown to children.

Workshop on Pradhan Mantri Vikas Yojana with Hudda family

A participative session was conducted on “Schemes by PMOand its benefits”- This was conducted to sensitize Huddafamily and share details about 5 policies: Digital India, SwachBharat Abhiyaan, Skill India, Sansad Gram Yojana & Jan DhanYojana. Since, the family showed keen interest to know moreabout the policies our Project Coordinator informed themabout 10 more policies. Benefits and way forward for theseschemes were the highlights about the session.
