Economy and Birkbeck College, University ofLondon, National Technical University of Athensand sponsored by National Bank of Greece, Wall

Street Journal Europe, and 3-Epsilon.

1998 Since obtaining my PhD from King's in 1998I have continued to assist Dr Fenner, on a part-timebasis, with his ongoing research into the failuremechanisms of fibre-reinforced composites usingnon-linear finite element analysis. This is a collab-orative project with Prof. Costas Galiotis (formerlyQMW) who is an authority on the use of LRS tech-niques for the experimental measurement of strainin fibre-reinforced composites. Experimental re-sults provided by Prof. Galiotis are used to validatethe predictions of the FE modelling at King's. Thisinterdisciplinary approach has lead to a steadystream of publications and to an improved under-standing of the factors involved in the failure ofcomposites.

1989 U.K. Patent awarded for an oil recovery de-vice (skimmer-type)

1987 - 93* Legal assistant, Vickers & Co. (for-merly Kidgells & Co.) Solicitors. Representedcompany at Crown Court hearings as well as per-forming various administrative and filing duties.*summer periods
