Our group has an immediate need for the position, so December 2015 graduates (or prior) would probably be preferred, but I would also encourage those graduating in May 2016 to apply. For more information on the position, please see the detailed job description on the following posting: https://www.linkedin.com/jobs2/view/107565152?trk=biz-overview-job-post The Private Funds Group at Kirkland is "second to none" according to a recent survey by Chambers & Partners, which ranked Kirkland in 2015 as a Tier 1 law firm for Investment Funds in its U.S., UK, Asia-Pacific and Global rankings — making Kirkland the only law firm in the world to be considered in the top tier for each of these core jurisdictions for four years in a row. Additionally, the private funds group at Kirkland has 12 private funds attorneys ranked by Chambers 2015, more than any other Tier 1 firm. The Fund for the Public Interest Network is looking for passionate students to fill positions on our Environment America and US PIRG campaigns. Environment America is continuing its work to protect our nation's waterways and defend the greatest clean water victory in a decade, the recently passed Clean Water Rule. After an exciting summer for environmental advocacy, we are working to maintain that momentum throughout the winter. If you or other students you know are enthusiastic about these issues, or are simply looking for part time work, please pass along this exciting employment opportunity. Our office has also worked on US PIRG's campaign to stop the overuse of antibiotics on factory farms and throughout the food industry. Last year, we celebrated a huge victory when McDonald's agreed to stop using chicken that contained antibiotics. In the fall we won our campaign when Subway agreed to do the same, but with all meats. We hope this will spark an industry-wide shift. Currently we are working on climate change with our primary campaign. The Obama Administration has finally put into play the Clean Power Plan, which will reduce our carbon pollution by 32% by the year 2030. This plan will stave off the worse effects of climate change and protect the environment for our future generations. But the polluting industry and their friends in congress are trying to block the plan and protect the polluters. Now we are trying to build as much public support possible to counteract their efforts. We need to engage the public in these critical efforts for public and environmental health. We cannot do that without an enthusiastic and engaged group of activists committed to social change. We're hiring for a number of different positions. Apply today to help make change happen. We are looking for • Energetic personalities determined to make a difference • Engaging story-tellers with a passion for environmental and social change • Self-motivators who turn obstacles into opportunities • Individuals who persevere when faced with challenge • Goal orientated leaders Salary $10-15 per hour Field Managers earn an additional $50-$100 each week. Healthcare benefits and more. Leadership and career positions are available. Contact Us You can reach us by phone at 202-546-3965 or apply online at http://fundforthepublicinterest.org/apply-now.html

The Center for National Security Law announces its 24th National Security Law Institute to be held June 5-17, 2016, at the University of Virginia School of Law. Please share this unique educational opportunity to study the field of national security law in depth with those in your organization you believe will find the Institute of value.

The Institute was specifically designed to provide government attorneys and professors of law and related disciplines with both an overview of the field and updates on contemporary developments. This highly intensive, two-week program brings to Charlottesville some of the nation’s leading authorities from academia and government service to address more than 40 important topics of national security law. Classes address both theoretical and practical topics ranging from the origins of war and its prevention to national security legal issues involving international and domestic terrorism, cyber threats, immigration, and intelligence activities. Certain timely and controversial topics will be addressed through debates, including the recent nuclear agreement with Iran and the need for new congressional

authorization for the use of military force against ISIS. The 2016 Institute e-brochure is attached. From the very first year the large majority of Institute participants have been government lawyers working in the national security field. Government attorneys from every U.S. federal department and agency with major national security responsibilities and foreign governments on six continents have attended the Institute. Institute graduates have later served as Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security, Legal Counsel to the Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Deputy Legal Adviser to the National Security Council. Other Institute graduates now serve as Director of the Duke Law School Center for Law, Ethics and National Security, and as Director of the Robert S. Strauss Center for International Security and Law at the University of Texas at Austin. One former participant commented, “Without question, a learning environment second to none was created. This is a world-class program that simply has no peer…”

Portions of the costs of the Institute are covered by grants from non-profit foundations to the University of Virginia Law School Foundation, but there is a tuition fee of $1950.00 that helps cover textbooks, lodging, and other operational expenses. Participants are responsible for their transportation to and from Charlottesville and for most evening meals during the Institute, and other personal expenses. The full program, topics list, application, and additional information are available on the Center’s website at http://www.virginia.edu/cnsl/nsli.html.
