Q1. When you first discovered that your mother was suffering severe abuse, what was your reaction?
A1. “Anger.. I couldn’t believe it at first, and the fact it was happening from people that… we entrusted with her health.”
Q2. Had you any idea before the events came to light about the goings on in the care home?
A2. “She used to say ‘They’re really nice when you’re here but as soon as you’re gone they’re horrible’… But I thought it had been resolved, I cant forgive my ignorance to the
matter. She was completely ignored and not spoken to when staff were in the room.”
Q3. With the sheer scale of the matter, there was no way you could have known. But did you ever see the effects of the abuse she sustained?
A3. ”I did, staff were commenting on a bruise she had and notices she was bleeding from the pressure sores that needed dressing. Little did I know that even five hours after I had
left the nurse hadn’t put a dressing on.
Q4. After you reported the abuse there were cameras set up in the home to capture events, is that true?
A4. Yes and we discovered it wasn’t just my mother suffering, such mistreatment – but other care workers were also caught on camera repeatedly mocking, taunting and bullying
other patients. I just hope all of these corrupt workers come to justice.

A2. “Well I don’t see how this involves me?”Q3. You’re the manager, the care home and its residents are your
responsibility Did you know what was happening in the care home?A3. “I didn’t, I care a lot about the residents and I don’t wish to be undermined
like this”Q4. Then why is it that one of your residents died within weeks of entering
your facility?A4. “I don’t see how that’s relevant – excuse me id like to leave now.”

Script 4 Victim’s Son
My mother suffered from Parkinson's disease, she struggled with it for roughly 10 years or so but she was a fighter, she could handle herself, I’ve never had so much
admiration for any one person in my life.
Thats why when I found out she was being abused by the very people I had entrusted with her health my entire life fell apart quite literally.
I went to see her after a week of trying to convict the people that did it… and she was gone - There was no notice, no phone call, nothing.
*pause, breathe, cry, single tear*
They told me it was an overdose on medication, but how could I believe that for even a second? The worst part of it is there was no proof and there wasn't any
justice.
