About the DRAGONS !!Deeside ice rink first opened its doors in 1973 and quickly followed by Deeside’s very first ice hockey program. !In March 1974 Deeside staged its first ice hockey game when London Lions faced local team, the Altrincham Aces. By the end of that year the rink had its own team when the DEESIDE DRAGONS were born. !In 1998 Flintshire County Council opened in new facility and started a re-branded team the ‘Flintshire Freeze’. The ‘Freeze’ operated out of Deeside until the 2011/12 season but to the delight of many in and around the local area the team reverted to its traditional name of ‘the DEESIDE DRAGONS’. !

Success !Deesides most successful season came way back in the 1993/94 season. With an unbeaten record of 19 wins and a single draw the DRAGONS went on the win the English Conference title finishing 7 points of second second paced Grimsby Redwings. That season saw more silverware in the form of the Welsh Cup and Power Play Trophy. !The only other success that came to Deeside was in 2003/04 when the re-branded ‘Freeze’ won the ENL North Title.

Last Season !After another tough campaign, the DRAGONS again found themselves missing out on top spot and ended up in 2nd place for the second season in a row but this coming season, 2nd spot would see the team face a promotion play-off which means the DRAGONS will be fighting for one of the top 2 places in 2014/15. 550 fans watched the team last season with a record attendance of 920 to one of our home games.

Match Night Sponsor !From just £250 !Be a match night sponsor for one home game. If you'd like to bring along some clients or celebrate a birthday, this package can be tailored to suit you party and includes: ! - entry to the game ! - several match programmes ! - replica jersey ! - meet the team in the dressing room before the game (chance to get your jersey signed) ! - business/birthday advertised as the match night sponsor over the PA during the game ! - adverting space in the match night programme ! - ceremonial puck drop before the game ! - present the Man of the Match awards to the players at the end of the game ! - events captured by our official photographer !Food can be arranged at an additional cost.

Player Sponsors !Playing the game can come at a great financial cost to the players. So the Dragons now have a player kit grid. This allows players to have items of their kit sponsored by a family or business and your business will be added to the grid. The grid will be displayed on our social media pages as well as website and match night programmes.
