What's a cat to do? In Disney's The Aristocats KIDS, Madame's jealous butler Edgar cat-naps Duchess and her Aristokittens and abandons them in the Parisian countryside. Luckily, Thomas O'Malley and his rag-tag bunch of alley cats come to their rescue! This feline adventure is sure to get your audiences tapping their feet to its upbeat, jazzy beat with a score that includes the Disney favorites "The Aristocats," "Scales and Arpeggios"

and "Ev'rybody Wants to Be a Cat.”

Auditions - June 4th, 2014

When are the auditions?Auditions will be held Thursday, June 4th at 3 PM in the theater. If you are in Puma Cub Choir you will be auditioning at 4:15 after your choir rehearsal.

Who can audition? All actors who will be in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade next year can audition for any role.

What does it cost to be in the show?Tuition will be $70 per actor. Tuition will be paid through the Rosa Parks PTSA on-line system in July. Please wait for your invitation from Mrs. Deason in the July to know tuition is ready to be paid.

How many actors will be cast? This show will have a cast of about 50 actors.

How do I prepare for my audition? Check your schedule with the rehearsal schedule on this site to make sure you won’t

have conflicts.PLEASE NOTE: rehearsals will be Mondays and Tuesdays from 3 – 5 PM. If your soccer practice begins at 5 PM, you will need to be late to soccer or make the choice not to audition for the play. Please note we will hold rehearsals during conference week, if you conference is scheduled during rehearsal you will leave quietly and then return when your conference is over. The rehearsal time will be from 11:30-1:30. We will not be holding rehearsals on October 26-27 because Mrs. Deason will be gone for family reasons. We need actors who are committed to attending all needed rehearsals. Our rehearsing time is very short and tight; we need everyone to be there unless they are sick.

Read the Character List section on this site. Think about your acting skills and which characters you might enjoy being.

When you come to auditions please come prepared to sing 30 seconds of a song of your choice and do a 30 second monologue to portray the personality of the character you would like to be considered for. You are welcome to audition with a monologue you have used in previous shows. If you have never been in a show before there are sample monologues included on the website.

Fill out the audition form and parent commitment form(find it on this site) and turn it in to Mrs. Deason’s Blue Mailbox located next to the Aristocats bulletin board (it will be marked with a sign) by Monday, June 1, . PLEASE NOTE: the audition form is turned in before the audition day. NO late paperwork will be accepted after June 1st.

Come to your audition Thursday, June 4th ready to say your monologue in character and sing a short song of your choice.
