drawing upside down technique

Drawing Upside Down Technique The method of drawing upside down allows you to use the right side of your brain to visualise shapes a lot more efficiently it’s supposed to enhance your visualisation when drawing so that when you actually attempt to draw for a major piece it will be a lot more accurate to the imagery perceived by the artist such as being able to tell what lines and shapes are accurate to the object’s frame outline, if you were to turn an image upside down instead of seeing the image as the object we see lines more so than we could if it was up the right way, the right side of the brain takes over the job analysing the image that the left side would do if it was up the right way but the right side of brain works differently and sees the image differently to the other side, this helps identify the shape, soon as the page turns over you feel a strange sensation in your brain as you analyse the image this is the part of the brain that is trying to comprehend the lines have to take form of to make a correct visual representation with the chosen art medium. With my experience with the technique of drawing upside down, I haven’t notice any changes to my way of drawing naturally but I do feel that strange sensation in my brain that’s trying to function and work in a different way to take on the perception of looking at the image upside down, so I think in time it can possibly improve my drawing skills overall…it’s just a matter of time to train that side of my brain to get used to it and then I will noticed the difference in my work most likely, but with this type of technique can take a long time and due to it being such an unexplored area of my brain it makes it very hard to judge if it will actually help me but I guess it’s too early to say.

Drawing Upside Down Technique

The method of drawing upside down allows you to use the right side of your brain to visualise shapes

a lot more efficiently it’s supposed to enhance your visualisation when drawing so that when you

actually attempt to draw for a major piece it will be a lot more accurate to the imagery perceived by

the artist such as being able to tell what lines and shapes are accurate to the object’s frame outline, if

you were to turn an image upside down instead of seeing the image as the object we see lines more

so than we could if it was up the right way, the right side of the brain takes over the job analysing the

image that the left side would do if it was up the right way but the right side of brain works differently

and sees the image differently to the other side, this helps identify the shape, soon as the page turns

over you feel a strange sensation in your brain as you analyse the image this is the part of the brain

that is trying to comprehend the lines have to take form of to make a correct visual representation

with the chosen art medium.

With my experience with the technique of drawing upside down, I haven’t notice any changes to my

way of drawing naturally but I do feel that strange sensation in my brain that’s trying to function and

work in a different way to take on the perception of looking at the image upside down, so I think in

time it can possibly improve my drawing skills overall…it’s just a matter of time to train that side of

my brain to get used to it and then I will noticed the difference in my work most likely, but with this

type of technique can take a long time and due to it being such an unexplored area of my brain it

makes it very hard to judge if it will actually help me but I guess it’s too early to say.
