Due to certain restrictions that are in place to protect your account, our system may identify out of town

transactions as suspicious and prevent you from making purchases. Recently, this protection has been

enhanced to include out of state gas station purchases. If an MCWV debit card is used at an out of state

gas station without a PIN, it will be blocked. Call the credit union prior to your trip and we will authorize

your card for out of town use.

Effective Jan. 1, 2020, our Inactive/Dormant Account fee will be processed automatically. The Inactive/

Dormant Account fee is $5.00 per month after 12 months of inactivity on an account. After 7 years,

remaining money is turned over to the state of West Virginia. Previously this fee was manually applied to

individual accounts. In order to avoid an Inactive/Dormant Account fee, simply make at least one

All newly opened Youth Accounts will be required to have a minimum $25.00 Share Deposit.

dreams come true, you need to have clear goals

Our theme for Youth Month this April, is “The

Future is Yours: Picture it! Save for it! Share it!”

We’re encouraging all members, particularly our

youngest, to write down their dreams, create

vision boards, and encourage each other. These

activities will help lay the groundwork for their future success.

Every member under the age of 18 who performs a deposit in their MCWVFCU

account(s), as well as any deposit made into a youth account by a parent/guardian,

during the month of April may submit an entry for a chance of one (1) $100.00

deposit to be made by MCWV, and one (1) $1,000.00 grand prize from CUNA.

This year’s Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) in March

gathered over 5,300 credit union professionals from across the country to advocate on behalf of America’s

credit unions for legislation important to the credit union movement and credit union members. MCWV’s

Gabrielle Wright and Brian Bess joined others from the state of West Virginia to have one-on-one

conversations with our Senators Manchin (bottom left) and Capito. A large portion of GAC was dedicated to

CUNA’s nation-wide campaign “Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union” which West Virginia Credit Union

League’s President and Senior VP (bottom right) joined in on. Brian also spoke with
