We are called DreamWorks and are standing for election for the Executive Board 2012. We are eight active NHH students, each with many dreams that we will work hard to realize in the coming year. In our strategy we have main issues and position-specific issues, as well as a one hundred day action plan. This plan contains seven points that will be implemented during our first hundred days as the Executive Board (KS) and can be found on the back page.

Our main issues our can be formulated as the following dreams:

A new subcommittee in NHHS, the Personal Economy Advisory. This will resemble Jussformidlingen in Bergen and Juss-Buss in Oslo, where the law students offer free legal assistance to individuals. We want to look at the possibility of doing something similar in NHHS, and help people who need free financial advice.

A better system for retaking exams. I will work with the school administration to move the retaking of exams to the beginning of the semester, before the freshers week and right after the Christmas holidays. In this way students can get a better chance to get good results. A new scheme may also contribute to less stress during the regular examination period.

To introduce a better capital management system. We will look at opportunities to bind some of our resources to a higher interest rate, without compromising the liquidity of the student union.

Enough storage in the student union. A lot of space can be freed by expanding existing storage, which can benefit all groups in NHHS. We shall present a proposal to the general assembly to blow out and level the floor of steinlageret.

Publishing the Executive Board meeting summaries on an equal footing with the Board of Representatives (RS). In the RS the minutes of investment affairs, instructions change issues and budget rounds are published.

Being an inclusive KS, with an open door and a low threshold for contacting us. We will create a 24-hour phone line where one of us is always available. We will also give students the opportunity to give us an anonymous feedback via the website.

After four years in NHHS my motivation and commitment are still on top, and shows no signs of slowing down! Throughout my time in the Student Union, including the Board of Representatives and the Business Committee, I have gained insight into how the student union works and worked closely with both the current and previous Executive Board. I will use my experience and the knowledge I possess to lift NHHS to new heights. I want to be an accessible and inclusive leader who will take you seriously - whether you are a first year student or sitting in NHH management.

I have a dream of…S A good and constructive cooperation with the Board of Representatives.S That subcommittees who submit applications to the Executive Board will have their applications processed (possibly sent to the Board of Representatives) within two weeks.S A cooperation with the outgoing Executive Board on their NHHS 2021 plans.S A cooperation with the school on their NHH 2021 plans.S To motivate the rest of the core board to do their very best.

The others on Saliba:Saliba is an old trotter who knows almost everything of what’s going on in the student union. He creates security and unity, and is the group’s focal point. Observant, structured, and with great ideas for the student association’s future!

Throughout my time at NHH I have grown both professionally and personally, as well as finding my place in the student union. Making a difference in the lives of students is something I am passionate about - academic policy is amazing! The Master Student Council (MFU) and Bachelor Student Council (BFU) are being merged into a new subcommittee, The Student Council, in 2012. If elected I will automatically become chair of this new committee, and as a part of BFU I’ve already been part of the process towards the establishment of the new council. I want to use the knowledge I have acquired over the last six months as vice chairman of BFU to develop this sub-committee to be a strong voice makes life better for students. I have a dream of…S A strong and effective Student Council. Based on my experience from the BFU and using the expertise of the current representatives of the BFU, MFU, and Head of Faculty Affairs in the current Executive Board, I will ensure the new sub-committee has a flying start.S A better system for retaking exams. The others on Caroline:Caroline was a fresh of breath air at last years election, and has kept a close watch on academic policy during her time in BFU. She is good at listening and has so many exciting ideas that when she first begins to talk about them, it is difficult to stop her.

Through my years in the Student union I have had a wide range of financial duties - I simply love numbers! As a member, then vice chairman and now chairman of the Accounting group, I have very good insight into the financial side of the Student union and I will use this knowledge to maintain and improve the financial work. I have a dream of…S A Student union with no financial officers should be left to fend for themselves. The financial officers of the subcommittees are the most important resource in the economic governance of the Student union - therefore it is important that they receive good support.S A tidy income side and a comprehensive billing system to give a better overview of the student unions economic situation. This involves going through the financial claims of NHHS.S A better capital management system. In my time in the student union I have been heavily involved in the artistic and creative part of NHHS, and as a member of the Direction Music I have challenged my creative abilities. I now want to be challenged on the more professional and organizational level through the position of Head of Internal Affairs. Through my years in the basement I have a good understanding of how the student organization works internally, and is known for being easy to talk to and get things done. I have a dream of...…S An alcohol serving policy that works for everyone. I will conduct a full evaluation of the new guidelines for serving at the forefront of UKEN 12 in cooperation with the basement groups, the officespace / Fløien, and the Security Group.S Enough storage in the student union. As a member of the NHH Aid Aksjonsuken Board, I was thrown into the student union head first. This suited me perfectly! The student union makes my academic life to something exceptional. Long days and nights in the basement group rooms elates me, for it is here in NHHS I belong. I have long been interested in politics, and through my position as international affairs at NSO-NHHS (Norwegian Student Organization) I have again been given an outlet for this passion. As the head of External Affairs of the Executive Board and head of the NSO-NHHS I will use all available resources to ensure that it will be nice to be a student in Bergen in Norway. I have a dream of…S An NSO-NHHS that lives up to their full potential as a sub-committee that makes a difference, not only for students at NHH, but also nationally.S That exchange students will have it even better in the NHHS. I want all students, regardless of whether they are Norwegian-speaking or not, to have access to good and useful information.

The others on Sunniva:Sunniva is the group skylark and politician that is ready to fight for NHHS locally, nationally and, internationally. This well-spoken girl can debate with the best, and will be able to do a good job of conveying NHHSs his case. You’ll have to look long and hard for so much joy and laughter in one woman.

For me NHHS has been an adventure without end and a place where I have been able to challenge myself and met many incredibly talented people. After only a semester at NHH, I became the Head of the Grafisk NHHS (The student unions graphic design subcommittee), which gave me the opportunity to pursue what I really like best, information presentation and promotion material. I love to be able to take hold of and finishing big projects in a short time, and have a lot of practical experience in effective communication. I hope to contribute further with my ideas and knowledge to create a comprehensive information platform for the student union, and make it easier for all students to understand how our student union operates.

I have a dream of…S A student union website which English speakers can understand. In cooperation with the Head of the External Affairs I will create a bilingual website solution that works well for both Norwegian and international students.S A complete and new graphic design profile to make our student organization can be even more comprehensive and have a consistent profile externally.S That all subcommittee statuettes are working, as they should. I’ll go through the statuettes of all subcommittees, and in collaboration with subcommittee boards specify all the groups activities and responsibilities.S Translate the NHHS Constitution and selected statuettes into English. I will therefore start a comprehensive translation project.

The others on Tobias:With impressive skills in graphic work and a tremendous capacity Tobias is made for the Head of Public Affairs position. NHHS needs his eye for detail and knowledge. Despite his young age he has international experience beyond his years, so his translating projects will be a breeze for him. He goes to great lengths to help others, and you rarely get no for an answer from this easy-going guy.

Ever since my first meeting with the student union, the mentor week and Aksjonsuken, I have developed a burning love for NHHS, which grows bigger every day. As Financial Affairs / Corporate Relations in NHH Aid I got an early insight into corporate relations work in the student union, and given me a strong desire to contribute further.

I have a dream of…S A unified marketing profile. I wish to continue marketing meetings and training courses so that marketing efforts within NHHS will work as efficiently as possible.S A new main sponsor. This will be completed by the end of my term.S New sponsoring agreements with a focus on support other than financial support. For example, to obtain partners that can provide students with better opportunities for relevant work experience through summer jobs and internships.S A good and strong relationship with the Marketing Group and the other groups I have responsibility for. Together we could improve NHHSs marketing efforts internally, and intensify our efforts towards the industry.

The Girls Day in the spring of 2010 was my first meeting with NHH and the student union. It was love at first sight! I have already taken part in several exciting projects in the student union, first as head of this year’s 17th of May Committee, and most recently the role of event manager in the 75th-year anniversary committee. These different experiences and the student association’s amazing events has contributed to my passion for the student union, and is something I want to continue working with.

I have a dream of…S A Project Coordinator position that works in the best possible way. The Project Coordinator position of the Executive Board was established in 2010, and I want to work on defining project manager’s responsibilities.S A better overview of subcommittees, project groups, and resource groups through a special page on nhhs.no. I want to make it easier to apply to join the various groups, in addition to giving students greater insight into what kind of work goes on in our student union.S A permanent solution for the sale of NHHS-tickets online.

Lettfattelig oversikt over NHHSNettsiden skal inneholde en overordnet oversikt over NHHS, som skal være spesielt nyttig for nye studenter som ønsker å navigere seg i jungelen av interessegrupper og underutvalg. I tilleg skal det på en enkel måte forklares NHHS sin struktur, samt gi et kjapt sammendrag av ansvarsområdene til de forskjellige underutvalgene. Denne informasjonen skal være tilgjengelig på engelsk og på norsk.

Språkmerking av plakater for arrangementerMye av informasjonen om aktiviteter på NHH går de internasjonale studentene hus forbi. Vi ønsker at alle plakater som ønskes opphengt på skolens område skal inneholde informasjon om det er åpent for engelskspråklige, som kan symboliseres med flagg. Vi vil trykke opp klistremerker med bilde av det norske og det engelske flagget. For å få hengt opp sine plakater må man dermed både ha stempel og klistremerke(r) fra org.sek.

Oversetting av Loven for NHHS og instruksene til engelskMEBA har allerede fått oversatt sine instrukser til engelsk. Vi mener at også Loven for NHHS og flere av de viktigste instruksene i NHHS bør oversettes til engelsk.

Podcast-prosjektetInnen 100 dager skal vi foreta en evaluering av podcastprosjektet. NHH har startet et prøveprosjekt med forelesninger på podcast. Vi vil følge opp dette prøveprosjektet, og ønsker at podcast innføres i flere fag.
