Winehopper: The Origins of the Drink: April 29th 1974. Chad Collins Charlestown had been working at his Uncle Arnulf's shop for over a year . ...or almost a year... or... about a large amount of time since November 1973. Regardless, what happened next was an event so grand... so awesome, that.... it pretty much described his everyday life and Chad Collins Charlestown probably wouldn't have been able to pick it out from any other day of that year, or from any day of the four years he worked at his Unlce Arnulf's shop. However, Chad Collins Charlestown did remember this day. Not because it was special. Not because it was grand, but because he was asked about it, by a visiting individual 15 years after the fact. April 29th 1974 was a monday. If it was 18 years later, it would have the same name as a great song by Sublime, April 29th 1992. Which is also a famous day because of nationwide riots in the United States. Regardless, none of this had happened yet. No one was looting TVs, and the 90's, thankfully, did not even exist yet. It was merely an average Monday for Chad Collins Charlestown. Stacking up a few boxes of beer from the regular monday morning delivery truck and staring out at the local river, Chad Collins Charlestown put the fifth one aside so he could get his attention to an inquiring man with a clipboard. Clipboards always do signify some kind of officialness. "You Chad Collins Charlestown?". "Yup.". "Sign here." The clipboard extended. "What is it?", Chad asked. "Hell, man. I'm just a guy with a clipboard. Marve!". Out of another truck stepped a tall, lumberjack of a man. Chad's mind stopped a little as he marveled how "Marve" made the 18 wheeler look like an average sized car. As he made his way down the stairs, Marve turned around, presumably to pick out a package, only when he turned around, he was holding... a midget. "Ok," Chad Collins Charlestown said, "that's not mine". They laughed for a second. The little man looked quietly pissed, but the way he marched over, leaning forward like a slow and small rhino, seemed to show he felt too important to betray that the comment effected him. To cut a long story short, and I'm sure you all would like to know what happens here, I'll just say that there was a drink made after the whole episode. The ingredients might tell you the story: Winehopper Recipe: Ingredients: - 1 dried grasshopper (candied, or smoked) - 1 regular jar - 1 shot mezcal tequila - red wine
