Greetings from Olathe South High School A sincere welcome to those attending today’s event – we are honored to host all involved. We thank you for supporting the students, the activity, and all that play a part in making this occasion possible. We believe events such as these serve to build community spirit and create an atmosphere in which students can represent their community and give back in an extremely positive way. This evening, students of Olathe South, as well as students of our visiting guests, have come together to embody all that is good by serving as ambassadors and extensions of their schools, their programs, their families, and their community. We recognize the immense amount of work and time that students and their respective coaches/sponsors have dedicated in preparation for this event. We have no doubt that this investment will culminate in a quality performance cheered on and witnessed by friends, family, and community members. We applaud the student participant for their commitment, efforts, and talents and express our appreciation for their willingness to share with us. All those involved in the event tonight will do their best to put on a superior performance – we would ask those attending the event as spectators to do the same. Let us, as observers of the activity, join one another in offering our best performance as well. We understand that the passion and personal investment in what happens during a contest can sometimes provide the temptation to offer less than our best. Help us ensure that at the conclusion of the evening, we can be content in knowing that we have succeeded in our effort to be courteous and respectful to all participants, coaches, officials, staff, and fellow fans. Regardless of the outcome of this event, all those involved have proven their willingness to work and sacrifice in order to achieve excellence. While our sportsmanlike action may play only a small part in the event itself, it plays a much larger role in teaching our students and those around us a greater lesson than a simple win or loss can. We ask that you also show your appreciation for the students who are serving other essential roles – the cheerleaders, the band, the dance team, and the students who have supported their teams as fans both home and away. These students play an integral part in their team’s success and we recognize and celebrate them for the vital part they play. Enjoy the event, appreciate the precious moments that we share with our students and community, and cheer on all those participating – we thank you for joining us in celebrating the students, those that support them, and the communities they represent.
