Launch J. J. Keller Mobile™ To open the J. J. Keller Mobile application, select the Start icon on your device.

A page of icons will be displayed. The J. J. Keller Mobile icon will appear as an ‘M’ with a circle around it. Select Keller Mobile.

The program will begin to launch (this may take a few minutes).

If your device is not connected to the EOBR, you will receive a message that the EOBR is disconnected. *Select ‘OK’ to clear the message if your intentions are to be disconnected. If, however, the cable is connected and you still get this message, unplug and re-plug the device.

Solo Driver – Login/Logout

If there were no problems with connectivity (or after the connectivity screen has been cleared), simply log in by entering a Username and Password. Then select OK.

Once you select OK, give the program a moment to authenticate your username and password.

You will then be prompted to enter your Trailer and Shipment Info, as well as check the applicable boxes for Returned to Work Location, Is Hauling Explosives and Weekly Reset Used (these options will only show if applicable).

If logs are missing, you will be notified by an alert box. See instructions on ‘Adding Off-Duty Logs’ to add off-duty logs for days off of work.

If no GPS available, you will be prompted to enter your location. Enter your Location Code, if applicable. If you do not have a location code for a particular stop, then select Actual Location and type in the City and State.

Exit the Program To exit the program at the end of each day, select Menu>File>Exit.

You will have the opportunity to select your off-Duty time from a drop box. Select Now, 15, 30, 60, or Exact Time

If you select Exact Time, simply enter the actual time you will go off-duty. After time is entered, select Submit.

When transmission of logs is complete, you will be taken to the home screen of your device. The logs have now been transmitted to the web for company viewing and reporting.

How Do I? Edit Start Time of the Day/Status The ‘Status’ screen should always say ‘EOBR Online,’ rather than ‘EOBR Disconnected,’ as shown below.

Choosing the Edit Time option will let you select the true time you went on-duty. This may be particularly helpful if you worked in the shop, warehouse, etc. before driving or spent time inspecting and/or loading the vehicle. After entering the exact time, select OK.

If you need to change the start time of your ‘On-Duty’ status, select Actions at the bottom left of your screen.

Edit Location Under the ‘Actions’ menu on the ‘Status’ screen, you can also select Edit Location. You may need to edit a location if the GPS is not available and you didn’t accurately enter the location. When editing a location, you can type in a Location Code or the Actual Location (City, State).

Change Duty Status To create a new duty status such as ‘Sleeper,’ or ‘Off-Duty,’ select Actions>New. Once you have chosen the new status, select OK.

A word of caution in regards to the ‘New’ status. The status cannot be changed while driving. While you are driving, J. J. Keller Mobile’s ‘Status’ screen should show the driving status automatically after the truck begins to move. Since the EOBR knows when you are driving, it doesn’t allow you to select a ‘New’ status (each company can set their distance threshold, before the system shows driving, so you may drive for .25 miles, for example, before the status changes to a Driving status). *Note: if you change duty statuses inside a 15 minute period, the status with the majority of time in that 15 minute period is represented in the electronic creation of the log.

Claim Driving Periods If you ever connect your Windows device to the EOBR AFTER there has been driving time AND you enter your starting time of your day to be before the driving time was accumulated, then you will have the ability to ‘claim’ that driving time. To do so, select Menu>Records>Unassigned Driving Periods. You are then able to check the applicable boxes of driving time that weren’t assigned. By checking the box, you ‘claim’ that driving time for your log for that day.

If unassigned driving periods were available from your start time to now, you would see the periods listed and would be able to select the boxes to ‘claim’ them.

Address Missing Log Locations If GPS is unavailable or there is not a connection to the cellular network for the GPS coordinates to be converted to city/state, then you will be prompted to enter your location or location code. This screen will not be displayed while driving, so when you begin driving and a location was needed for a previous duty status, that location entry box goes away. You will then be presented with a message that says ‘Some Locations Are Missing.’

To enter those locations, go to the Menu item for ‘Edit Log Locations’ and select Menu>Records>Edit Log Location. For any locations you would like to enter, select the check box for that status. You will be prompted with a screen to enter each of those locations.

Calibrate Odometer

After initial setup, you will be prompted on a monthly basis to enter your dashboard odometer. *It is critical that the odometer is accurately calibrated to ensure proper mileage is allocated to each log/trip.

If you are connected to the EOBR and the odometer can successfully be read from the vehicle, the odometer will be pre-populated for you. Otherwise you will be presented with a blank text entry box to type in the odometer. If pre-populated and it is incorrect, delete that number and type in the accurate odometer. When the odometer is entered/verified correct, select OK.

*If the odometer entered does not appear to be valid based on the previous calibration, you will receive a message to verify that the odometer reading matches your dashboard.

Roadside Inspection For a Roadside Inspection, you will need to go into ‘Roadside Inspection Mode.’ To do so, select Menu>File>Roadside Inspection. You will then be prompted to enter your password.

By entering your password, you are locking the inspector out of certain parts of the Keller Mobile application that are not necessary for a roadside inspection, such as anything beyond the last 7 or 8 days (depending on your rule set). Several things will be gray and inactive while your device is in ‘Roadside Inspection Mode.’

For the non-driver to modify a status, make sure you have switched drivers per the instructions on the previous page. Do not make this person the ‘Designated Driver.’ Follow the instructions below for changing a status. You can tell which driver you are changing status for by looking at the top of the screen.

Under the ‘Actions’ menu on the ‘Status’ screen, you can also select New to change a duty status. A word of caution in regards to ‘New Status.’ Changing a status cannot be done while driving. While you are driving, J. J. Keller Mobile’s status screen should show the Driving Status automatically after the truck begins to move. Each company can set their distance threshold before the system will trigger a driving status. So for example, you may drive .25 miles before the status changes to driving. Since the EOBR knows when you are driving, it doesn’t allow you to select a New status of driving. Note: if you change duty statuses inside a 15 minute period, the status with the majority of time in that 15 minute period is represented in the electronic creation of the log.
