Drivers of Change: Geopolitics, Markets, and the New Map of Energy

Dear IHS CERA Members and Friends:
I am pleased to invite you to IHS CERAWEEk 2013 — our 32nd annual executive conference — to be held at the Hilton Americas in Houston, Texas, on March 4-8, 2013.
Our theme is “Drivers of Change: Geopolitics, Markets, and the New Map of Energy.” IHS CERAWEEk will offer insight into how markets, geopolitics, and technologies are changing the game for producers, consumers, and policymakers. Economic austerity and regulatory uncertainty are creating new risks as the industry invests to meet future energy needs. At the same time, the unconventional oil and gas revolution is driving a tectonic shift in the global competitive landscape for industrial production and demand. What challenges and opportunities lie ahead for oil, natural gas, coal, renewables, and nuclear power? What will be the strategic and investment responses?
IHS CERAWEEk offers a comprehensive and integrated global framework for understanding the changes in the energy landscape, and the implications for strategy, investment, and leadership. It provides presentations by senior energy officials and thought leaders from across the energy spectrum and around the globe, along with interactive discussion among participants — some 2,300 senior executives and officials from 55 countries.
This year’s conference will open Monday afternoon with an IHS Energy Outlook followed by the Economic Outlook Dinner and networking with industry leaders and IHS experts, designed to foster informal conversations on issues that matter. The conference will culminate in a special Thursday evening and Friday program on “Energy and the Next 30 Years” providing insight and vision from remarkable thinkers and leaders. IHS CERAWEEk On Demand will once again bring the conference to a wider network of “virtual” participants.
Our aim is for IHS CERAWEEk is to provide the most valuable and wide ranging insight into the future of the global energy industry, and to make a constructive contribution on strategy, investment, and policy decision-making. We hope you will join us for this timely conference and contribute to our shared understanding of the forces that are transforming the energy future.

Sincerely,
Daniel YerginConference Chairman
