Things you’ll need
HTC Droid Incredible 2 Touch Screen Digitizer Replacement
Nylon Spudger
Plastic Pry Tools
Small Phillips Screwdriver
Torx T5 Screwdriver
3M Adhesive Strips (For Touch Screen Repairs)

Disassembly – Step 1
Insure the device is powered off
Remove battery cover
Remove SIM Card
Remove MicroSD card
Remove the seven (7) Torx T5 size screws
Disassembly – Step 2
Using a pry tool release the clips holding the bezel on the frame
Disassembly – Step 3
Take your time when removing this bezel
You don’t want to break any of the clips used to hold the bezel in place
Now that you have removed the bezel we can begin removing the motherboard
Removing the Motherboard Step - 1
Remove these two (2) small Phillips #00 screws holding the motherboard to the frame
Removing the Motherboard Step - 2Keep a look out for this plastic cover that covers your headphone jack
Removing the Motherboard - Step 3Also keep a look out for this plastic USB port cover
Removing the Motherboard - Step 4
You will need to remove the tape covering these two (2) jawbone connectors
Using your spudger or plastic pry tool lift the tabs to the upright position to release the flex cables from the connectors
Removing the Motherboard - Step 5
Using the tip of your spudger gently pry up the vibrator motor and move it out of its housing
Be careful not to rip the wires connecting it to the motherboard
Removing the Motherboard - Step 6
Use a pry tool, gently lift the motherboard away from the frame
Be careful not to rip the digitizer flex cable which is still connected underneath the motherboard.
Flip your motherboard over appropriately as shown here
Removing the Motherboard - Step 7
Remove the tape covering this jawbone connector, allowing you to remove the motherboard from the screen assembly
Removing the Screen Assembly - Step 1
Slice or remove the two strips of tape covering the housing and the back of the LCD screen
Removing the Screen Assembly - Step 2
Apply a reasonable amount of heat to both the front and back of the screen assembly to loosen up the adhesive holding the screen assembly to the frame. You may use a heat gun or hair dryer to achieve the desired result. (Be careful not to hover over flex ribbon cables for too long)
Removing the Screen Assembly - Step 3
Using your spudger / pry tool begin prying the LCD & Touch Screen from the frame.
The object is to remove both the LCD and Glass Digitizer together so you may replace the LCD Screen and/or Touch Screen DigitizerApplying additional heat will help loosen up any stubborn adhesive.
Separating the Glass Touch Screen from LCD Display
Apply heat to the outside edges to loosen up the adhesive holding the glass touch screen to the LCD screen
This will allow you to slide your pry tool between the two screens and along the outside edges to separate the screen assembly
Quick Tips
When separating the glass touch screen from the LCD be cautious of the keypad and keypad flex cable attached to the LCD screen
If you need to replace your LCD screen you must remove this piece of tape holding the keypad flex cable to the back of the LCD to place your keypad back on your new LCD replacement
Apply Adhesive to your New Touch Screen
Cut your 3m Adhesive in to strips and then place them onto the back of your new touch screen replacement in the example areas highlighted
Be careful not to cover the camera view slot and light/proximity sensors
Make sure to clean up any old adhesive left over on your existing LCD screen to ensure a clean and flush fit.
Remove the film from adhesive when you are ready to apply the new digitizer to the LCD
Almost Finished!
Once you have placed your new glass digitizer on to your new or existing LCD screen you can begin the re-assembly of the device
Attach the screen assembly back to the frame remembering to feed the three flex cable back to their original positions.
Re-Attach the Screen Assembly
Remember to re-connect the digitizer flex ribbon cable before replacing the motherboard to frame.
Re-Attaching the Motherboard - Step 1
Re-connect the LCD screen flex cable & keypad flex cable, as well as replacing your vibrator motor.
Re-Attaching the Motherboard - Step 2
Tighten back the two (2) small Phillips screws at the top of the mother board in the highlighted locations. Also be sure to place both plastic pieces back into position – one near the headphone jack and the other by the USB port
Re-Attaching the Motherboard - Step 3
Now you can re-attach the inner bezel along with the seven (7) Torx T5 sized screws in the highlighted locations.
*They’re all the same size so don’t worry if you mixed them up
Re-attaching the Bezel

Now you can replace the following:
• SIM Card
• MicroSD Card
• Battery
• Back Battery Cover.
Success!!
And there you have it! Your Droid Incredible 2 looking and working like new again!
