Dryer DuctsAnd the issues they can cause.Tips for you and your listings
Always route to exterior
• Clothes dryers produce large amount of moist air. They should always be routed to the exterior of a home.
• One load of wash holds approximately 10 pounds of water (5 quarts)
Keep them short as possible
• Standard building practices limit clothes dryer exhaust ducts to 25 feet, and less when bends are present (2.5 feet for each 45-degree bend and 5 feet for each 90-degree bend)
Check connections
Broken connections lead to problems
Mold and rot are possibilities
Indoor venting options are not a good idea.
This is a result of a dryer being routed to the garage
Lint rose into this attic space
Condensation also formed and dripped on to the lint making neat little craters.
Final Comments
• Recommend to sellers that they check on the dryer vents to ensure proper connections.
• Check your own vents• If not proper have it corrected to avoid future
