Dry PRIME SB42 Confirms to ASTM D 41 DRY PRIME-SB42 is cold applied primer based on bituminous. DRYPRIME SB42 is a solvent based bituminous primer for priming concrete roofs, walls and floor, cementitious screeds, bitumen felts, weathered corrugated iron and steel etc prior to the application of bituminous materials. DRYPRIME SB42 penetrate to the concrete pores and improve the adhesion between the membrane and concrete surface. DRYPRIME SB42 has been specially formulated for use as primer for wide applications in the construction industry. Main use is as a primer for concrete and cementitious substrates, especially porous and dusty surfaces, prior to the application of bitumen based systems. DryPRIME SB42

Confirms to ASTM D 41

DRY PRIME-SB42 is cold applied primer based on bituminous.

It can also be used to prime metal prior to the application of a protection coating against corrosion of pipes, structural steelwork and other metallic equipment.

Features● ASTM D 41- Asphalt primer for roofing, damp proofing and waterproofing●BS 3416 Type A Class C – Bitumen based coatings for cold application and protective coating●Excellent binder for dust particles ●Improve the adhesion by penetrating to the substrate ●Low VOC to comply with Green Building Construction requirements

Application field● Primer and sealer for rubber or Bituminous membrane and coatings ● Standard primer coat for metals, concrete and masonry surface for pplication before roof-felts, membranes, sealants, adhesives and protective coatings● Damp proofing coating● Anti corrosive protective Coating ● Waterproof paint on foundation walls, as a fixative consolidating primer.

Application Procedure

Surface Preparation Surfaces should be free from dust, dirt, oil, grease, and loose material as far as possible and must be dry. If the surface is ferrous metal then all rust must be removed, corrugated metal sheet should be allowed to weather sufficiently.

Installation Mix the contents of the pail or drum for a few minutes to remove any sediments.

DRYPRIME SB42 should be well scrubbed in by brush or roller , ensuring only a very thin coating is applied or applied thinly by spray. Application rate, depending on the porosity of the substrate, average in the range of 4 to 6 square meter /litre per. Allow to dry thoroughly before over coating, this will normally take 3 to 6 hours depending on prevailing conditions.

In very warm climates this drying time can be reduced to approximately 1 hour if the application is external. The period of time can increase to 2 to 4 hours if a thick coat is applied, in cold temperatures or a non absorbing surface

For highly porous surfaces application of a second coat is recommended.

The tools are cleaned with either a synthetic or nitro spirit

Coverage 1. CONCRETE: Approx. 4sq.m/Ltr (depends upon the surface)2. METAL SURFACE: Approx 6 sq. m/Ltr

Packing Available in 20Litre pails and 200 Litre drums.

Storage and Shelf lifeStore materials in dry and covered place in air tight closed containers a temperatures 10- 58°C with careful handling to prevent damage to products. If conditions exceed these ranges, special consideration in storage must be taken. Shelf life under normal conditions in closed container will be 12 months.

Health and Safety Precautions DRY PRIME-SB42 is solvent based and will give off inflammable vapors, which may have a narcotic effect if inhales or absorbed trough skin. Use protective coating cloves. No smoking. Direct contact may result in mild irritation. Read and follow all application, label, precautions, and health and safety information prior to use. Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet for complete health and safety information.
