Reducing feed costs withoutcompromising the performanceof animals with high genetic po-tential is a major profit driver inlivestock farming systems. Asglobal market forces increasethe variability of cost of feed in-gredients, so increasing effi-ciency and flexibility becomesthe prime objective.

This is as true for phosphorous as forenergy and protein. Phosphorus is an essential mineral in the nutrition of allclasses of livestock. However most com-mercial diets are based on cereals andoilseeds in which the bioavailability ofphosphorus is poor.

The reason the naturally occurring phos -phorus is unavailable to animals is that itis present as phytate phosphorus whichis a largely indigestible molecule. It is indigestible because the digestivetracts of monogastric species do nothave adequate concentrations of the phytase enzymes capable of releasing the phosphorus.

To ensure adequate available phospho-rus, it has been traditional and cost effec-tive to add sources of inorganicphosphorus. This has two consequences. The first is that its highly volatile price in-creases feed costs. The second is that allthe unavailable phosphorus is excretedleading to increased environmental pollu-tion with phosphates.

Feeding supplementary microbial phy -tases can increase the digestibility andutilization of phosphorus in cereals andoilseeds, therefore reducing feed costsand environmental pollution.

RONOZYME® NP is a new phytase offering from DSM Nutritional Productsand Novozymes which is proven to deliver outstanding results in a rangeof monogastric production systems.

What is RONOZYME®

NP?

RONOZYME® NP - The better phytase

RONOZYME® NP...

...better phytase efficacy...

...better heat stability...

...better cost efficacy...

...for higher profits

RONOZYME® NP is the latest phytaseoffering of the RONOZYME® feedenzyme portfolio designed to meet thedemands of modern productionsystems. It allows a higher release ofphytate phosphorus, so allows greaterreduction in feed costs through lowerinclusion rates of inorganic phosphate.

Following extensive trials RONOZYME®NPis proven in pig and poultry systems, toimprove phosphorus metabolism andperformance. In addition, other mineralssuch as calcium, magnesium and traceminerals that are bound to the phytic acidare released for absorption. The higherintrinsic heat stability allows to survive inthe digestive tract during feeding. It haseven been shown to deliver higher costeffective results at levels in excess oftraditional inclusion rates, offering thechance to further reduce inorganicphosphate supplementation rates for better cost saving.

RONOZYME® NP combines thisexceptional effectiveness withoutstanding ease of use. The CT form isthe most heat stable, able to withstandthe harsh conditions experienced inanimal feed manufacture.

Available in three different forms, it canbe easily incorporated into any feedmanufacturing system while its flow andmixing characteristics mean finished feed quality is not compromised. It meets industry standards forhomogeneity and safety in premix and feed production.

What does RONOZYME® NP do?

• Increases the availability of phosphorusfrom cereals and oilseeds

• Reduces the need for inorganicphosphate supplementation

• Increases performance in pigs and poultry

• Reduces environmental phosphatepollution

• More effective at higher inclusion ratesthan usual - so maximising increases in phosphate digestion

Improved phosphorusutilizationAnimals fed RONOZYME® NPuse phosphorus more effectively

Bone mineralisation, usually analyzed byassessing tibia ash content, is recognizedas an effective measure of phosphorusutilization. Trials comparing RONOZYME®

NP to control diets and a competitorproduct show significantly higher bonemineralization, and therefore betterphosphorus utilization.

Results from trials demonstrate the beneficial effect of RONOZYME® NP in pig and poultry units.

Improved phosphorusand calcium digestibilityAnimals absorb more and waste less

Trials with pigs and broilers show anincrease in the absorption of both calciumand phosphorus with an increasinginclusion rate of RONOZYME® NP. Cost effective responses are achieved at inclusion rates of 150ppm and higher suggestinghigher inclusion rates will improveproducer profits. At current lowmarket prices for inorganicfeed phosphates, LCFprograms recommend aminimum of 200 ppm formeat poultry and pigs.

Improved animalperformanceAnimals fed RONOZYME® NPare more efficient

Daily liveweight gain and feed conversionratio (Kg feed/Kg lwt gain) are widelyaccepted measures of animalperformance in pig and poultry units withmore efficient animals achieving highweight gains and a better feed conversion.

Trials with RONOZYME® NP show thatsupplemented animals grew faster andwith superior feed conversion tounsupplemented animals. The advantages were more apparent at higher inclusion rates.

Better heat stabilityRONOZYME® NP is able to work in the animal.

Under the harsh conditionsexperienced in feed manufacture,

some enzymes can be degraded or destroyed.RONOZYME® NP (CT) with its improved CTformulation has outstanding heat stability upto 95°C. In addition it withstands attack bydigestive enzymes in the gut of the animal. It gets to where it benefits the animal.

RONOZYME®NP (CT) is the ideal choicefor pelleted feeds as it is the most heatstable phytase available. It has superiorhandling properties being virtually dustfree with excellent flowability andmixability.

RONOZYME®NP (M) is formulated forsystems where feed is mildly processed. It is safe and easy to handle for yourworkers, flows and mixes easily and isvirtually dust free. It is 5 times moreconcentrated than RONOZYME® NP (CT).

RONOZYME®NP (L) is the liquid form ofthe product which is ideally suited to postpelleting liquid applications. It is 2 timesmore concentrated than RONOZYME® NP(CT).
