Cancer, the Citycare Network and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society where was the public relations coordinator. She also volunteered at various non-profit organizations in the valley including Helping Hands of Las Vegas Valley, Speedway Children’s Charities, New Vista Community and the City of Henderson.

Cline says her volunteer work and non-profit experiences taught her “a diverse range of skills required in successful non-profit management,” which led her to her current position with DSOSN, where she has been for five years.

Deann Cline, the director of fund development for the Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada, has more than 20 years of experience in non-profit and fundraising.

Cline began her career as a funeral director and part owner of the Cline Funeral Home in Leechburg, Pa. and the Brady-Cline Funeral Home in Vandergrift, Pa. During this time, she also held a part-time paid position as the executive director of the American Red Cross in Vandergrift from 1983 - 1991. She was also a member of the Vandergrift Area Business and Professional Association, where from 1983 - 1995 she was the Christmas Parade coordinator.

In 1990, the Vandergrift Borough Council asked her to develop and organize a centennial committee commemorating the 1995 Vandergrift Centennial Celebration. She spent five years organizing a committee, establishing a board of directors, and developing numerous successful fundraising events benefiting the centennial. At the end of the celebration, the remaining money was gifted to the Vandergrift Historical Museum.

Cline came to Las Vegas, Nev. in 1997 and got involved with the Candleighters for Childhood
