301 Issued 02/14 ALKALI RESISTING PRIMER KEY BENEFITS Plaster & Masonry Surfaces Seals Fresh, Alkaline Surfaces Blocks Stains such as Nicotine & Fire Damage PRODUCT INFORMATION Typical Use Interior and exterior masonry surfaces that may contain alkalis. Pack Size 1L and 5L. Colour Range Off-white. Composition (nominal) Pigment: Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide and Alkali Resisting Extenders. Binder: Oleoresin. Solvent: White Spirit. Volume Solids 48% (nominal). SURFACE PREPARATION To get the best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean and dry (new surfaces particularly must be fully dry) and free from all defective or poorly adhering material such as efflorescence, dirt, grease or wax. Where necessary, surfaces should be rubbed down using a suitable abrasive paper and then dusted off (refer to your COSHH Assessment). Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre- 1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead. SYSTEMS INFORMATION STIR THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE. After suitable surface preparation, apply 1 coat of Dulux Trade Alkali Resisting Primer to bare or stained surfaces. Finish with an appropriate Dulux Trade paint system. APPLICATION METHOD Brush only. As with all solvent based paints (according to British Standard BS 6150), do not use in temperatures below 5°C. Practical Coverage A guide to the practical coverage which can be achieved under normal conditions is up to 9m² per litre. Spray Recommendations For Health and Safety reasons related to all solvent-based paints, spray application is not recommended. Drying Times Single coat at standard thickness: Touch Dry: 8-12 hours. Recoat: 16-24 hours. Cleaning Up After use, remove as much paint as possible from brushes before cleaning with brush cleaner. When this paint container is empty please ask your stockist about recycling. If you have leftover paint, please dispose of it responsibly and consider donating it to Community RePaint.
