ACKNOWLEGEMENT

We would like to express the deepest appreciation to our faculty advisor,

Dr.R.S.Walia who has the attitude and the substance of a genius : he

continually and convincingly conveyed a spirit of adventure and

excitement in the team in regard to team's practices and performances.

We would like to thank him for his persistent guidance and for providing

us with all the necessary facilities.

We are also extremely grateful and indebted to Prof. Samsher (Dean,

Student Welfare, DTU) for his expert, sincere and valuable guidance and

encouragement extended to us.

We also place on record, our sense of gratitude to one and all who,

directly or indirectly, have lent their helping hand in ventures of the team.

TEAM’S AGENDA

The sole purpose of DTU Bhangra had been to provide opportunity and

instruction for aspiring dancers. We encouraged, advanced, and promoted

the art of Bhangra dancing (Punjabi folk dance) and Punjabi Culture

through various performances and competitions, on and off campus, and

through instructive workshops.

Since the beginning, the team has been working hard towards the stated

said goal and has been quiet a success.

Team’s agenda had been summarized under the following points:

o Set a new standard for traditional Bhangra and re-energize the industry.

o Set a benchmark for future generations and cultivate new talent.

o Raised awareness and interest of our traditions and culture through our

performances and workshops.

✓ 10/08/17 - Bhangra Flash mob at Mechanical Canteen.

✓ 07/10/17 - Performed at ICAPIE 2017 at B.R. Auditorium.

✓ 14/10/17 - Fresher's 2017 Bhangra performance at OAT.

✓ 02/11/17 - Performed at Freshers at SATYAWATI COLLEGE, DU.

✓ 06/01/18 - Performed at BHANGRA ARENA 2018 at SGGSCC, DU.

✓ 20/01/18 – Shot a video for social media Bhangra handle at BR AUDI.

✓ 26/01/18 – Performed at REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION in Dr. B.R.

Ambedkar Auditorium.

✓ 29/01/18 - Participated in folk competition of GARGI COLLEGE .

✓ 01/02/18 - Participated in folk competition of PGDAV, DU.

✓ 04/02/18 - Participated in folk competition of DSEC, DU.

✓ 15/02/18 - Participated and 2nd position in folk competition of SGND

KHALSA COLLEGE .

✓ 16/02/18 - Participated in Anushthaan, folk competition of ENGIFEST

held in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Auditorium.

✓ 20/02/18 - Participated in MIRANDA COLLEGE folk competition.

✓ 21/02/18 - Participated in folk competition held at RAJDHANI COLLEGE, DU.

✓ 22/02/18 -Shot a video for social media handle at MINI OAT.

✓ 26/02/18 - Participated in folk competition of SGSSCC COLLEGE.

✓ 28/02/18 - Participated in folk competition of SGTB KHALSA COLLEGE.

✓ 15/03/18 - Participated in folk competition of SATYAWATI COLLEGE.

✓ 17/04/18 - Performed at CULTURAL NIGHT at B.R AUDITORIUM.

✓ 21/04/18 - Performed at cultural night of RGMUN 2018.

✓ 28/04/18 - Performed at FAREWELL 2018 at OAT.

TEAM ACHIEVEMENTS

Team achievements had been summarized under the following points :

✓ Our hard work , determination and perseverance finally started

paying off in this session. We received a lot of appreciation in various colleges for our efforts and in dept knowledge of “ TRADITIONAL FOLK” Bhangra.

✓ We represented DTU at a National level competition, BHANGRA ARENA 2018, where only seven teams could perform in total.

✓ We secured 2nd position at folk competition of SGND khalsa

college , 2018.

✓ We achieved 1500 subscribers on YouTube.

✓ Special mention at ANUSTHAAN, ENGIFEST 2018.

✓ Our video crossed the gross mark of 1,50,000 views, which was quite a feat for us.

✓ We successfully managed the team expenses within the funds

provided by the college.

✓ We are going stronger as a team by each session . And we hope to push our limits even further .

✓ Today , as a society we feel proud as everyone in the college is familiar about the society and our main aim to promote the art of Bhangra dancing (Punjabi folk dance) and Punjabi Culture has been achieved.
