I-T3 SEQUENCE• Dual Maximum Variable Total Air

I-T2 SEQUENCE• Variable Total Air Flow With Mixing

At Minimum Flow

I-T1 SEQUENCE• Constant Total Air Flow

All I-T sequences are available with any combination of normally open or closed primary dampers (pneumatic) for use with direct orreverse action thermostats.

I-T MIXING SEQUENCES

• COMBINATION INLET & TOTAL (I-T) AIR FLOW SENSING• VAV HOT & COLD PRIMARY AIR• PRESSURE INDEPENDENT

Model DU, I-T Air Flow Control Sequences control both flow and temperature of the supply air to the conditioned space. Air flowcontrol is maintained by two pressure independent velocity controllers, each responsible for the control of cold and hot air flow, respectively. The air flow sensors, one each for the “cold controller” and the “hot controller”, are arranged in series. One of the flowsensors is located in either the cold or hot supply inlet of the air terminal, and the other sensor is located at the discharge end of theair terminal. The total sensor at the discharge measures the combined hot and cold or total flow to the space. This arrangement isideal for mixing of hot and cold flow while maintaining a constant flow rate from the air terminal to the space. Variable dischargetemperatures are obtained by hot and cold mixture ratios.

I SEQUENCES

• INLET (I) AIR FLOW SENSING• VAV HOT & COLD PRIMARY AIR• PRESSURE INDEPENDENT

Model DU, I Sequences control both flow and temperature of the supply air to the conditioned space. Air flow control is maintained bytwo pressure independent velocity controllers, each responsible for the control of cold and hot air flow, respectively. The air flowsensors, one each for the “cold controller” and the “hot controller”, are arranged in parallel. One of the flow sensors is located in thecold supply inlet of the air terminal, and the other sensor is located in the hot supply inlet. Although inlet sensing sequences typicallyprovide no mixing of hot and cold air, variations of mixing may be achieved with pneumatic controllers by varying their reset range &start point. I sequences are often used with Direct Digital Controls.

Heating elements shall be of highgrade nickel, rated at 35 watts per square inch of wire surface.Elements shall be held in place with floating ceramic bushing, whichare held in place by minimum 20 gauge galvanized steel brackets.

Each electric heater shall be furnished with two over-temperaturesafety devices, serviceable and replaceable in the control enclosurewithout removing the heater from the duct. The primary safetydevice shall be a disc-type automatic reset that will shut off theheater during over temperature, and automatically reset the heaterwhen duct temperatures are within limits. The second safety deviceshall be a heat limiter in the power lines that opens the circuit andde-energizes the elements if the primary safety device fails. Eachheater shall be furnished with a specific wiring diagram. Eachheater shall include an air proving switch, PE switch or contactorper step, overcurrent protection as required by N.E.C. or U.L., anda door interlocking disconnect switch. All power lines shall be bro-ken when the hinged heater door is opened.

PNEUMATIC CONTROL SYSTEMThe air terminal pneumatic controls shall be suitable for a 20 psicontrol system. The controls shall be pressure independent, andshall be capable of maintaining air flow set point within +/-5% ofthe design air volume regardless of changes in system static pres-sure. An identification label, control diagram, and inlet sensor flowchart shall be attached to each terminal. The sequence of opera-tion is based on Anemostat Control Package DP- _________. Thepneumatic velocity controllers shall be furnished and mounted bythe terminal manufacturer, and the maximum & minimum primaryair flow shall be set at the factory. The controller shall beAnemostat (Model 23/24) (Model 31 and shall maintain a con-stant reset span independent of the primary air flow rate).Balancing taps, separate from the sensor or controller taps, shallbe provided for field adjustment of set points. The controls shallreset flow, as dictated by the space thermostat (furnished by theTC). Controller air consumption for each controller shall not exceed(Model 23, 24 - .009 scfm @ 20 psi) (Model 31 - .017 scfm @20 psi). CFM limiters are not acceptable.
