INTRODUCTION
Intellian Dual VSAT Mediator
Intellian’s Dual VSAT Mediator (DVM) utilizes a leading-edge technology to control two Intellian VSAT antenna systems simultaneously and ensures to provide uninterrupted and always on broadband service at sea even one of the antennas is blocked, failed or involved in maintenance. The secondary antenna system will be up and running immediately and seamlessly taking over the role of a primary antenna to deliver the highest levels of system performance and reliability even under the harshest marine environments.

Features of Intellian Dual VSAT Mediator
Automatic Switchover between 2 VSAT Antenna SystemsThe DVM is capable of controlling and managing two VSAT antenna systems simultaneously to deliver an interruption-free connection all the time. In addition, it switches automatically to one of the antennas that is able to acquire and lock onto the satellite signal. Refer to the “Switching Algorithm” section in this menu for detailed explanations.
Easily Configured As Redundant Antenna System A redundant system can be easily configured by using the DVM to prevent network outages even when one of the antennas fails due to unfavorable environmental conditions, power outages and complex technical failures or blocked by obstacles.
Simple and Easy InstallationThe DVM aims to provide a “plug & connect” experience through its simplified yet sophisticated installation design.
Manual Antenna Selection The DVM has a switch on its front panel to allow users to select one of the antennas which is in service manually.
Support Various Modem InterfaceIntellian Dual VSAT Mediator provides carious types of modem interfaces includeing iDirect INFINIT5000, iDirect X5, Huges HX200, Comtech CDM-570/L and SatLink 1910. Also, it provides an OpenAMIP protocol of iDirect. The mediator is interfaced with modems through a console port, D-SUB port or Ethernet port. The most protocol includes GPS information, Tx mute, and satellite lock.

Connecting to Modem
Connect the RF coaxial cable from the RX MODEM connector on the rear of the mediator to the RX connector on the modem.
Connect the RF coaxial cable from the TX MODEM connector on the rear of the mediator to the TX connector on the modem.
Connect the cable from the CONSOLE connector or ethernet connector on the rear of the mediator to the console connector or ethernet connector on the modem.
Connecting to Ship Gyro
It is required to connect the Ship gyro to the mediator through the NMEA connector on the rear of the mediator. Intellian Dual VSAT Mediator only supports the gyro compasses in the NMEA 0183 standard. For other gyro types (i.e., Step-by-Step/ Synchro), a gyro converter is required to be connected inbetween from ship gyro to ACU, which converts ship gyro signal into NMEA type.
Note : If the ship gyro is connected to the Mediator connect it separately to the ACU is not required.
