Welcome to Dubai Maritime City Monthly newsletter, October edition.

October was a dynamic month for all of us, we had our 2nd Maeifa

event, Seatrade Awards, Maritime Standard Awards and associated

conferences. We would like to applaud for all the Business Partners

who were nominated and congratulate the winners.

The event highlighted DMC’s recent developments in its services and operations.

Eng. Ali Al Suwaidi, the General Manager of “DMC” emphasized the importance of the

Developing DMC’s property is one of

the steps taken in order to reach the

goal of being a world- class maritime

cluster. Mr. Muhammad Ibrahim,

Property Management Director at

DMC revealed the new property man-

agement system and its role to facili-

tate the registration process and enable

partners to request support online.

The innovation Quay

DMC has a mandate to provide convenient and

safe built environment for all its business part-

ners. Mr. Adil Abdalla, Project Development Di-

rector at DMC pointed out “Considering the cur-

rent inconvenience we go through everyday ac-

cessing the causeway leading to DMC, we have

recently awarded the development contract to

Arabian Coast to design and build the Causeway

road works. This will enhance the traffic flow by

reducing the risks and allow smooth entrance to

DMC.”

DMCA had launched the “Innovation Quay” that aims to

provide integrated services and exceptional opportunities

to developers, innovators, and researchers to help trans-

form their ideas into concrete projects that will reinforce

Dubai’s status in the global maritime community.

Mr. Ashbin Rebello from the DMCA IT Innovation Team

further explained “This new project aims at building and

promoting a Culture of Innovation and R&D in the UAE

Maritime sector .

VAT Awareness

The upcoming VAT is a challenge facing the

companies in the maritime sector. During the

event Mr. Vikas Gupta, Chartered Accountant

from Endurance Management Consultancy ex-

plained how VAT will affect the industry and

effective ways to manage it.

The new step enables DMC business partners to complete their transactions online using Tahwil

portal, without having to visit the customer service centres. The integration also allows DMC cus-

tomers to avail of the various online payment options offered by Rosoom, using local and interna-

tional Visa or MasterCard credit cards, e-Dirham or direct debit from bank accounts, easily and

seamlessly.

is undergoing major advancements towards adopting modern technologies, manual and paper

transactions hinder the development of the industry. That’s why, Dubai Maritime City has taken

On 30h October 2017, Dubai Maritime City has signed Musataha agreement with Mr. Tahir

Lakhani Chairman of one of the UAE’s fastest growing shipping agencies Dubai Trading

Workshops

DMC workshops offer frontage parking with an open

space for loading and/or unloading and an easy accessi-

bility of vessels.

The space facilitates the manufacture, fix, repair, con-

struction of marine vessels along with the provision

of installing machinery.

Workshops of two sizes are available within DMC:

A. Small workshops of size—260 m² / 2800 ft²

B. Large workshops of size—884 m² / 9515 ft²

Showrooms

DMC showrooms are unique in the area since it is the

only space used to display wide range of products,

goods and merchandise related solely to marine industry.

What is more they are easily accessible within the entire

area.

DMC offers showrooms of 84 m² area with a dedicated

parking area for clients.

Warehouses

Warehouses of 510 m² / 5490 ft² are available to store

spare parts and materials used for marine related busi-

ness activities.

Shops

Small retail spaces of sizes 64 m² / 694 ft² are available

at a very attractive rates to offer a specified line of goods

and services needed by the community.

Office

Offices spaces available for rent in DMC Build-

ing, Maritime Business Center (MBC) with a

dedicated parking area for clients.
