Message from the Principal
Stage 2 Excursion
Our first overnight excursion for the
year is fast approaching and both staff
and students are getting very excited
about the trip to Bathurst. Thanks to
Mrs Robertson and the Stage 1 teachers
for not only organising this excursion
but also for giving up their time away
from family to supervise the students.
Overnight excursions are not mandato-
ry and only occur if the teachers agree
to participate. Please remember that all
money needs to be paid before students
can attend the excursion, unless prior
arrangements have been made with me.
Western Athletics Carnival
This Friday we have 2 students repre-
senting Dubbo District PSSA at the
Western SSA Athletics Carnival to be
held at the Barden Park Athletics Com-
plex. Deakyn Bailey and Casey Church
-Lenord will be participating in the 100
and 200 metres races and the Senior
Boys Discus respectively. I’d like to
wish the boys all the best for Friday
and I’m sure they’ll be excellent
ambassadors for the school.
2018–2010 School Management Plan
We are coming to the end of the 2015 –
2017 planning cycle and we now need
to commence planning and a vision for
the school for the 2018 – 2020 period.
We sought community input towards
the end of 2014 and we’ll be doing
likewise later this year. To have a suc-
cessful vision for our school we need
input from all stakeholders; staff, stu-
dents, parents/carers and the entire
school community.
NAIDOC Celebrations
The school’s NAIDOC celebrations are
locked in for Thursday 14th September
and I’d like to invite the entire school
Dubbo North Public School “Skill with Honour by being Responsible,
Safe & Respectful lifelong learners”

community to come along and join in the
fun and activities. Students will be par-
ticipating in cultural based activities
such as cooking Johnny Cakes, Aborigi-
nal dancing, face painting, Indigenous
games and lots more. There’ll also be a
BBQ lunch and a flag raising ceremony
so mark the date down, dress the kids in
red, black and yellow and we’ll see you
on the 14th.
LMBR
The school’s financial system as we
know it will be changing from next week
as the old Oasis system makes way for a
new and improved system. As with all
things technological I’m sure there will
be hiccups, but the new way of doing
business promises to be more efficient
and user friendly.
Parent/Teacher Interviews Feedback
It was great to see so many parents/
carers at our Parent/Teacher Interviews
towards the end of Semester 1. There are
262 students at our school and 124 inter-
views were conducted, which equates to
approximately 47%. This doesn’t take
into account interviews conducted via
phone or after school on other days, or
the conversations teachers are having
with parents on a weekly basis. Feed-
back from the parent survey will be in-
cluded in next weeks’ newsletter.
Have a great week.
